I wish I had a decent camera, I would love to post some pictures of my food. I moved out of my parents house because of my studies. My cooking skills are increasing.

Seriously once you live alone and try to cook something decent you really get better.

chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream, toffee flakes, raspberries and a sprig of mint. extremely filling, but very tasty. couldn't be arsed to take any beauty shots of it, but it both looked the part and tasted it. i can't take credit for the making of it though. it was made by my better half.

    Edited:

side note: raspberries are expensive as fuck this time a year.

Bag of those "hand fried" crisps waiting for a curry tonight.

If you got a cold go buy some vitamin C tablets take 2 a day any more and you will have the runs if its one of those regular ones it will be gone in 24 / 48 hours.

Although your drinking orange juice so thats half way there.

both of which are great sources of vitamin C. i'd much rather eat fresh fruit than pop pills

Be careful with the vitamins. I was treated for acne by a dermatologist when it was so bad that I had to be given what was basically controlled massive vitamin A overdosage to deal with it. Not nice. (worked though, from the surface of Mercury to a normal human in 6 months)
Also, one of the effervescent Vit C pills should be more than you need, though just use fruit instead, really.

Meal On a Poor-Man's (college student) Budget:

Stage One: Rice and Vegetables (Cheddar Broccoli Rice and Frozen Mixed Vegitables)

Stage Two: Cheese and other spices (Sharp White Cheddar, Pepper, Salt, Habanero Hotsauce)

    Stage Three: Meat (Baked Hotdogs)

Stage Four: Mix and Serve (Bon Appetit)

Does this seem appetizing to anyone else but me? None of my friends will even try it... Granted that hot sauce is really good, and by good I mean spicy. I just like spicy hot food. :D

Also, for those interested on an ingredient/price breakdown:

    2 cups mixed vegetables- ($.50)
    1 package rice- ($1.00)
    1.5 table spoons hotsauce- ($.05)
    3 hotdogs- ($.60)
    2 oz cheddar cheese- ($.65)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Total Ingredient Cost: $2.80
    Large Portion Serving Size: 2
    Total Cost Per Meal: $1.40
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
To put that cost into perspective, that makes this meal worth the same as one mcdouble hamburger and maybe a small fry.

last night i made a rather excellent bolognese sauce, including half a bottle of red wine reduced down, simmered for about 3 hours. it was good.

this morning i toasted some bagels, buttered them, carefully placed spinach leaves on the bagels, then made some perfectly cooked scrambled eggs, placed them on top, seasoned with salt and pepper before laying a nice piece of smoked salmon on top, quick squeeze of lemon and some more black pepper. very awesome breakfast.

Wanted Grilled Cheese. Didn't want to clean dishes.

Solution? Took those bread slices and threw them into the toaster oven, one slice of cheese each.

    Close Enough.

whoa, what's the appeal of drinking milk while you are eating meat? I mean, I usually drink milk when I eat some cake or other baked shiz but while eating savoury meals? Each to his own, I guess.

Which raises the question, is it bad that I can't tolerate dairy, and I find bacon (and crisps e.t.c.) too salty for my taste? A fry is totally unappetising to me - I won't eat any of the dairy, the smell of eggs makes me sick, and the meat's either too greasy, salty or fatty for me to want to consume it.

With bacon, I'm inclined to believe the saltiness of bacon is an aquired taste as you get older, kinda like beer. I used to hate the saltiness of bacon, but I've started to like it and I can't stop eating the stuff.
