With all respect to him where intended because he's a great musician but during the Wall and Animals he could have been hired out for session work (as he eventually was) and still made a similar contribution. But that's fine in the end, it wasn't really his fault divorce etc
Well I already knew that, I was just talking about his presence on the record.
Maybe his keyboard is fucked up and he's just rolling with it.
All and all it's just a..... nother side of the moon
Richard Wright's Birthday... is today.
What a man.
Always my favourite Floyd member :smith:
Another shame is the man who took his place while he was inactive, Michael Kamen, is also deceased. I got a very down feeling when I found out about that, they were both just brilliant musicians :(
What if Bob Geldof joined Pink Floyd after Roger left?
Well it wouldn't be different.
Bob Geldof didn't even like Pink Floyd.
Happy birthday Rick :smith:
Don't cry you sissy...
Gilmour would've made a good Pink.
I can't think of David as Evil Nazi Pink.
I can't think of Roger as anything else than Evil Nazi Pink.
I can imagine Pink changing from David to Roger in the Comfortably Numb scene, then at the Stop scene, it's back to David.
I can't think of anyone but Geldoff.
I gave another listen to The Final Cut. To be honest I enjoy it a lot more than The Wall. Just like The Wall, there's no Wright unfortunately, but Kamen is an amazing substitute for his work. The thing is that The Final Cut (if I treat it as Roger's solo album) it's just like The Wall but the songwriting is so so so much better and all the songs are well composed at perfect timbre. Another great thing is the emotion put in to it. You can feel it in Water's voice, in each individual instrument, and in the lyrics. It's just awesome
duuuuude. I've been listening to a lot of King Crimson and Frank Zappa. I really dig them both. Both really trippy
yeah it's on sale for a fiver in my store. should pick that up.
I find driving is just about the best thing you can do while listening to Pink Floyd, because you can really just lose yourself in the music and feel it.
Some albums are better for it than others though - Meddle isn't so good; better when you're parked somewhere. DSOTM reigns supreme for the driving aspect for me.
