That sounds excellent. I'll have to look at the mod more, though.Currently, being a faction leader, I can singlehandedly do anything I desire to do, whether it be farming, mining, or killing off people. I could create an empire being a single person. The point of an RP server is to make things more realistic, and in real life, kings don't do much but rule, and lead people into battle.
It would be boring to have certain people constrained to what they can and can't do, so I think Levelcraft would fit that perfect medium. People could take time to train at what they want to do, or like to do, and other people hire them or ask them to do those things. That way, people have natural jobs, and aren't told what to do. Plus, it takes a load off the moderators, who would otherwise have to check factions to make sure certain people are or aren't doing certain things.
Now, if we had this plugin enabled, Joe could be the faction's head miner, and Bob could be a general of war. Tommy could build the TNT cannons and work with explosives, but if he wanted to, could help out Joe by raising his mining level and looking for valuable items.
What this does is also encourages people to join factions. They aren't good at combat from the start, and would likely die after fighting monsters, so joining a faction with people that are good at fighting would help him a lot.
Also, wars would be more varied and balanced. Armies could train with bows and arrows, or swords and armor. Jeff can attack from the walls with his arrows, and Jenny, an attacker, could raise her armor level to defend herself. Jenny may not be a good archer, but she can always rely on her friend, Kristen, to back her up with her bow and arrow.
Everyone has their places and jobs they want to do, and can help out as they see fit. It encourages more teamwork, and discourages people that just singlehandedly do what they please, all alone. People that put more time into their work can be better at it, not just the person with the most resources.
There is one problem, however. This plugin doesn't support a total level cap, so anyone could hypothetically level themselves up to 100 in each skill. In an ideal world, we could set it so everyone has 400 levels, and can only level up to that amount. If they would wish to take up another skill, they could deduct levels from skills.
The one way to counter this is adjusting the level curve so it gets extremely hard to earn levels above 60. This means you have to spend extra time getting that level up to 100, time you could spend on other skills.
