Is the new series definitely a 2013 release? I haven't been in the thread for a while sorry.

avatar fits...........wait i just made a zing too!
Something I'm sort of confused over: what's stopping a random person from learning all 4 basic forms of bending?
Nothing confirmed but i would guess this fall or winter. Because it would be shitty of them to release a new season next year when we only got a pilot season with 12 episodes this year.

It's a combination of genetics and spirituality that defines whether someone has the ability to bend (Fans speculate anyway.), the Avatar is just special in that they can bend all four inherently; the creators have never gone into real detail about the nature of the avatar and the "why" they can do it other than the excuse of being the avatar. This doesn't mean that other benders can't study techniques of other elements and apply them to their own element. Iroh developed Lightning Redirection from water bending techniques.LightOfDarkness posted:

I just found out that David Faustino did Mako's voice
Here he is getting the ladies in real life.
They only had animatics at Comic-Con, i can't seem them have fully animated by the fall, then again if the animations were being worked on at that time. Then maybe.
But I don't think we'll see season 2 until 2013.
So i was rewatching the entire Aang:Last Airbender series when i picked up on something i couldn't believe i had never picked up on before.......My Reaction

Not only that, but he was also:

Mark Hammell does a shit-ton of voice-acting, not really that surprised![]()
How could I not know that? I recognized George Takai and René Auberjonois' voices, but not Mark Hamill?
We might be getting a Animated Legend of Korra movie from paramount soon!
also from one of my favorite cartoon network shows

I think he's just glad to pick up roles that don't ask him to sound like the joker.
Funny, cause he did the Joker's voice for Scooby Doo Mystery Inc's first season two episode. But there it worked more as a joke...
Just wondering, where did you hear this from?
No solid plans for one. Paramount is simply expanding its animated division and Nickelodeon properties like Dora The Explorer, The Legend Of Korra and Monkey Quest are just one of their many IPs that they may work on
Heres the Link: http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/08/...orra-the-movie
I think having a Legend of Korra film right now would be weird. The current story would be going on some kind of weird tangent.
As an expansion of the series after its TV run is completed would make a lot of sense to me though.
Why not do an animated movie of the original series? That storyline is almost entirely over (once The Promise: Part Three is out), so there's plenty of room.
Would be even more awesome if it took place when everyone's an adult, because we haven't seen a lot of that yet.
Or one of the previous avatars like Kyoshi or Roku
We already saw what was basically Roku's life story in an ATLA episode, I don't think it would work with Roku. Kyoshi however would be interesting.
I'd like to see Kyoshi forming the Dai Li on screen.
Or perhaps the story of zukos mother.
I mean, they do keep hinting that it'd be an interesting story.
Zuko's mother is really Momo, calling it now. You heard it here first, people!

Momo was going to be Monk Gyatso incarnated, but they scrapped that idea. You can definitely see it throughout the series, though.
Been thinking of watching avatar for a bit, should I just start with legend of korra or from the beginning, I have low tolerance of annoying main characters![]()
The original series was better than Korra has been so far in several ways in my opinion, so I'd start with that.
Oooohhhh boy, you're going to haaaate Korra for the first few episodes.
Just thinking I might not get most of the stuff if I start at legend of korra, but no idea.
If they were going to make a book 2 then Korra wouldn't have been so rushed
They made all of book 1 before the go ahead for book 2 came along
Why did anyone push for a second book. Shit I hope its good because Korra's been somewhat disappointing so far.
Really if they had the books/seasons to 4 in the first place. They would have time to think. The whole bloodbending thing wouldn't have felt so cheap to accept in my opinion.
I get the feeling with the Korra series, they spent more time focusing on it looking amazing rather than building characters and storylines, i mean they just kept showing off loads of art of the backdrops and items throughout the story saying "oooooooh yeah republic city looks so amazing with the lantern night backdrop" rather than going "well we're going to develop x character here and z character there so they become integral to the plot and the plot is going to be related to point b here and is going to develop into a series finale noone sees coming!"
someone posted a sight earlier that was great for watching this and the original series, anyone got the link? I'm not saying I lost it.
But I lost it.
If anyone who wants the TLA on DVD, Amazon is heaving a very nice deal on all three books for 55% off.
