Maybe the benders will go into hiding and start their own society, hidden from nonbenders. It'll be like Harry Potter, but with less ghosts.

How about you just do it prophylactic for everybody and if somebody complains about it being tedious or police state like you just point to the alternatives of (initial) civil wars and (eventual) world wars brought on by benders?

Also, again asking for this thread's opinion, how far could Amon go with his war on benders before the show gets too dark in tone for you? Burning down places of knowledge? Separating kids from their parents to re-educate them? Summoning the Third Reich and treating (ex-)benders like second-class-citizens? If the authors weren't restrained by nick or whoever, how far would you want or expect them to go before reconsidering what you're watching?

I would probably enjoy it more if it got considerably darker, as long as there was still some humor involved. I wish they could get it off of Nickelodeon but I think too many of the viewers are 6 - 12 year old kids that probably wouldn't follow it to another channel.

This is true. I think it would fare well if it targeted a slightly older audience, if only for the artistic freedoms it could afford, but for a Nick show, it's doing very, very well for itself.

So how do they plan on taking the bending away from every bender? Even if they take it away from every current bender new benders can still be born.
That sounds like a much, much later goal. I think Amon's current plans are to make bending illegal by gaining power and taking out the big name benders first.

I think Legend Of Korra is able to get considerably dark considering what happens in Young Justice. yes, they are two different shows on two different channels but Young Justice comes on half an hour before LoK and it has stuff you really wouldn't expect to see in a saturday morning cartoon let alone anything before adult swim or toonami

Actually, this brings up a very valid question: Why is Korra always depicted in fan-art as being incredibly muscular? It's rather odd, to say the least.

She'd have to be fairly muscular if she was able to pick up, what, 4 people in a bear hug? Granted it was an old man and some air bending children, but still, takes some muscle.

Hmm, makes sense. I guess I'm just used to the noodle arms and flat abs from the original series.. Only person I remember having any muscle definition was Iroh... And the Pebble.

Just from the color palette of Asami's clothes I automatically assumed she was one of Amon's men. Especially her green eyes being like the goggles Amon's men wear. I thought their date was supposed to be a trap; let's hope I'm wrong though.

This made me think of something

    What if:
idk if this is really spoiler worthy but who knows
What if the pro-bending competition is a ploy set up by possibly someone that agrees with Amon's views. They are just trying to bunch up many benders then Amon raids the place and starts taking people's bending away but then everyone rallys together and fights Amon off.

Today someone stole my wallet, so naturally I went up to this guy in blue and told him but he didn't seem to care. Since when did the police get so lazy? I mean, I'm sure he was a cop, he was dressed in blue after all.

After that I went over to my friends house and accidentally dropped my keys down the flight of stairs to his basement. His basement light was out so I asked him to go find them for me and he said he couldn't. Lazy prick, if I had green eyes I would be helping people with my night vision all the time.

Not saying Asami is a good or a bad guy since I don't know, just pointing out how pants on head retarded your logic is.

Judging by the previous trailer how Amon and his Equalists attack during the pro-bending tournament, it's possible that Asami is trying to get Korra in the tournament to stay according to plan. But that's a long shot or she's just being nice and helping her favorite team stay in the tourney.

she's ripped compared to the way girls are normally depicted in comics/cartoons. I'm trying to think of another women who's notably strong and all I can think of is Brienne from game of thrones

My aunt liked the movie, and her defense was that she never heard of the cartoon and that she was my eldar therefore she had better taste.

By the way, my dad liked the old series and saw episode 3 and is going to wait until they come out on dvd so he can see them all and not have to worry catching up. I told him that it's uploaded legally online though I seem to have an issue of my email account blocking my dad as spam so we'll see.
