That's not the point. It's decent because it's cheap and has mid level fire power.

Flakpanzers are horribly efficient against main battle tanks, the guy spammed them and managed to disable my T80s by stressing the crews out to an extent where they just wouldn't do anything.
Is Eugen stealing music?

the T-72 armor isnt too shabby, if your just parking them in some hedges/woods they are probably ok, the T-62 obr 1975 and up have equal or better stabilizers and optics and roughly the same firepower the T-64's are also cheap and decently equiped
I agree, it's really retarded.
You guys should try the special forces. Put them in a building somewhere and they'll rip shit up.
One question: Will this by any chance be moddable?
Also is it worth specializing into one type of unit (air, support, tanks, whatever) or is it better to keep a balance?
is infantry any use in this?
I felt it was horrendously useless in RUSE
I haven't played much but I've already lot a few Leopards to some aptly-named Russian FAGOT launchers. Even non-AT infantry can rip armoured vehicles to shreds if they get close enough.
Again, special forces. 1 squad can lock down a capture point if positioned right.
holy fuck i suck at RTS i get my ass pounded
Wow that AA is fucking more effective against tanks than helicopters srsly, that flakpanzer can't take out even Mi-24As yet it fucks up the tank crew and makes them retreat.
So it's like real life? I haven't played yet, but are you manuevering your tanks to within effective range of the AA and expecting them to be a secondary targets to other things and dying? Forgive my wording, but I see AA as only being dangerous when they can hit a majority of their rounds, and 20/30mm spreads like a motherfucker. I see it all the time in DCS, a couple ZSUs lighting up a column of tanks with support from some T-80 platoon and the tanks in the column hardly even get a shot off.
30mm shells have a lot of kinetic energy. Getting a shot off while you are getting thrown around the compartment is pretty hard.
Edited:
Though they should probably turn it down a little bit.
Holy shit that Buk-M1 is awesome. 4200m range, takes down helis in one shot.
okay guys i just bought the game and im installing anyone up for some multiplayer with me
Edited:
okay i just finished downloading it anyone want to play?
So does anyone think this game could be an esport and if not why do you think not?
i think its a little early to talk about it becoming an esport but one thing that would hinder is is the randomness of the game,
it has things like accuracy which is a random factor and can make a much better player lose to a bad one simply because its random
That's what differentiates between actual, real-world generals and strategists from RTS progamers. A progamer doesn't have to take into account all that, they don't have to consider even 1/10th of the factors that people need to consider in real life.
Also I never understood how "randomness" (in quotes because it's not really randomness, just very intricate factors that are really hard to keep track off) is a bad thing. You can't just make everything super simple to the point where it becomes a APM competition and call yourself a strategist.
so are we gonna make an esport for real world generals then?
Was looking through the unit list and I noticed something. Look at the range.

As Clausewitz said, the "friction of war" is always present on the battlefield, no matter if the opposing sides are using spears or wonder-wizard technology.
1 km range for flamethrower? Impressive.
Yeah that flamethrower is fucking ridiculous![]()
so i need some non incompetent teammates anyone up for the job?
Tip: Avoid playing with level 1s.
why is the lynx and black hawk have the same speed? the lynx is way faster.
Is this the type of game where new players have zero chance against veterans with their super tanks and whatnot but they still get pitted against them
Ranked mode will pit you against players of a similar level. In unranked mode you can see the people you're playing with in the pre-game setup and choose if you want to play with them or not.
I've mastered Warsaw pact arty.
Through a mixture of short/medium range missile arty and long range Self propelled guns I made the enemy team rage in chat.
Nothings more satisfying then stopping a Challenger and M60 rush with rockets and Fagots.
Edited:
Also. For warsaw pact medium range rockets, buy the east german ones. They cost 1 star less, so you're going to be spending 2 stars or 5 stars if you buy the upgrade. Instead of 3 and 6.
Edited:
the BM-21 and RM-70 is what I'm talking about.
Well the problem is that most of level 1s don't know the game mechanics and spend their points on wrong units and then watch them getting destroyed. This game actually requires some cooperation to win. With level 2 you can already research one of best tanks/helicopters in the entire game.
It's more the type of game where level 1's randomly disconnect either when it starts or at any point in the game, fucking hell.
But really I spawned like 48 tanks last game, really shit ones and steamrolled the enemywith hellmarch playing in the background naturally
My friend also spawned like 50 T-55's and did the same , Supported by some tunguska anti air units they were a force to be reckoned with![]()
Well yeah, with a mp-only beta there's no way to practise the game before jumping in mp so it's to be expected.
Is this beta well balanced so far? Cuz I'm shit at RTS games online and the less I feel like some guy is just shitting out OP units the better.
On my first few games I was really confused. Then I sat down and looked through all the units and decided on what I watned to do.
I regret getting long range missile arty. It's fucking awesome and devastating, but it's spread is so fucking large that you'll end up damaging your team mates.
Whilst there are "OP" units, they cost out the ass, so whilst he may have "op" units, you can shit out a number of worse units that can still overpower his units if used right(which cost way less usually).
If you buy a Smerch or M270, you're going to pay for its expensive cost and really pay in supplies to sustain firings.
Edited:
What's the unit limit for MRLs? I know that you no longer can do this...

I just love helicopter supplies. So big of a payload and can get around like ten times faster then trucks.
The pilot has autism when it comes to landing though.
Edited:
Like holy shit. I counted once and he spun around in a circle like twenty five times when landing it.

<3 Buratinos.
Get 2 - 4 of them and get some kilometers close to the enemy (Max range of 5 or 4 km I think) and blast them down with 120 rockets.
The capitalist pig feels the might of Gorbachevs head stain.
I love special forces, especially the helicopter transported ones. They are great at taking out arty people love leaving undefended at their main base.
Found this neat video about some helicopter crash ninja survivor taking out enemy arty with his ATGM
