I still get fairly consistent cystic acne, despite practising good hygiene and washing/moisturizing my face regularly. I also get enough excercise and etc etc.

Is it true that cystic acne goes beyond personal hygiene and other habits?

I ate some mcdonalds fries a couple hours before that. I feel better now, it's just that it has been happening several times weekly. First, I get some weird feeling of sadness. Then my body starts shaking. I think it might be low blood sugar because I asked a nurse about it today and she said something about low sugar.

You should eat bread if you swallow something like that. It packages it and stops it from tearing your insides up.

    Hormonal, genetic, psychological and diet.

    Hormones you can't really change.
    Neither genetic.
Psychological you can, relieving stress and stuff.
There is an association between diet, high glycemic loaded diets, ie lots of carbs
    can effect it.

has anybody had any pulmonary function tests? i just did a little googling and the main one seems to be a spirometry, which is basically just breathing in and out

but my doctor said something about slight radiation and a chest xray, which doesn't seem to be a regular pulmonary function test? i was just wondering if anybody's had this done before, so i have more of an idea of what to expect!

You might be a bit too skinny, or if you eat quite a lot (by other people's standards, not your own) that might indicate a metabolic disorder.

But tbh it sounds like you're just a bit on the skinny side. Just have a glass of soft drink or some food next time it happens.

I had to do a PFT for my aviation medical check, but that was just spirometry and it came back normal
They're probably just throw you on a slab, give you some lead protective gear to put over your ovaries and other radiation sensitive areas, ask you to fill your lungs with air and have you do a few different positions

It's nearly entirely unlinked, despite what people say. There are some links to diet affecting it, but most of it is hormones and a little bacteria that loves your pores. If it's causing you grief, go to a doctor, they'll give you an antibiotic, then if that doesn't work, benzoyl peroxide will be given (stronger than the OTC version). If you still have issues, it's a dermatologist referral which leads to a blood test for liver function to see if you can cope with isotretinoin. (at least, in the UK)
Only bother making them go to the isotretinoin if it's really bad, it's not comfortable at all, I had to do it as my acne was awful. I've only got very light scarring now, and most people don't notice it. Oh yeah, and in the year since treatment, I've only had 2 spots appear. (and go)

Nah, considering people eat relatively huge amounts of various bits of various animals, a bit of skin is fine.

pseudoephedrine works really well at clearing your nose
you could try snorting lukewarm water through your sinuses, although that can feel unpleasant (especially if you've salted it)
having a really hot shower which produces a great deal of steam can help as well
you can dissolve some essential oils in a bucket with boiling water, and throw a towel over your head and huff the vapor too

I'll try to reduce my stress, and when I have a panic attack, my heart rate spikes, I get a little dizzy, and it feels like I can't breeze to the point where I'm gasping for air. I haven't seen anyone about it yet, and next time it happens I'm going to start doing a shitload of pushups or something, thanks for the advice.
not trying to be mean, but i know how it feels, I have anxiety that comes and goes, medication is a bad idea and ill explain why in a minute, but a panic attack is where your heart rate spikes really high, you start shaking in a almost fear like manner, and you are extremely afraid of something, anything that the mind can come up with, anyway medication is bad because once on medication you believe you are fine, then as it wears off it causes anxiety or a panic attack because you are afraid that you might have anxiety or a panic attack because you are not on medication, its a never ending cycle of fuck.

I've got this too. I plan on visiting with the doctor about having it fixed surgically. If my insurance company will cover it that is. It's been passed off as purely cosmetic for a long time, but people are starting to realize it can cause heart problems. That means it's sort of a toss up on whether they will or not. I'm hopeful.

Sometimes I get really bad pains in my lower-right back. It just happened today where if I bend a certain direction, I get a pain so bad that it tightens all of my back muscles and it's been preventing me from making certain motions.

Any idea how to prevent this in the future?

I don't personally use them but my parents do, I've heard it helps not only with stuffy noses but also snoring, sleeping with your mouth open, etc. Obviously you wouldn't wear them around town but for 10 bucks it's worth trying. They do what they say they do, keep the nasal passages open. I'm sure you can find it in any pharmacy or equivalent store you may have over there.

One of the reviews. Not sure how similar Iceland and the USA are but any pharmacy store should have them, over with the various other medicines and whatnot.

After a long session of computer gaming,

Raise your arms all the way up, stretch out as much as possible and then tighten the muscles in the lower back as much as you can. It pops and you get a huge amount of relief.

okay so right now i have this pain right at the bottom of my lungs, just under/around my diaphragm, and when i breathe in it's a lot worse. it's completely unrelated to the fact i'm meant to be having a lung scan soon, and i'm pretty positive the reason is because i just tried a little bit of christmas card making in my room and i sprayed a little spray mount and then the gold spray paint, both of which were *really* fumey and i opened my door and window as soon as i realised how much it smelt. as per usual with fume inhalation it gave me a bit of a headache and light-headedness but i had a nap for a couple of hours and now i have this pain at the bottom of my lungs (and my throat feels like it's closing up a tiny bit), and i was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem, and how long it took to go away.
i don't feel there's any point in seeing a doctor as i'm sure this will go away of it's own accord, but i'm not sure if paracetamol/ibuprofen will help. maybe a hot shower or a big bowl of hot water and a towel over my head or something?
