Really late but I thought we should keep the thread alive, PanicButton is a great extension that allows you to save and then hide your tabs and even set up a password to prevent someone else from accessing them

I can't get enough of Smooth Gestures

Though, it has caused me to start doing gestures in other programs expecting the same results. I just tried to close down notepad with a gesture.

I think I should probably update the thread with some cooler stuff.

    I'm am extremely lazy

    Edited:

I updated it with most of the missed extensions, unless they were not linked right, in which I got too lazy to fix it.

    Edited:

If somebody wants to come up with an organization plan for it, go for it. I'll implement whatever you guys want as long as I don't have to do anything.

I put everything in categories, but it's still a bit jumbled. Also made a header.

Google Chrome is one of the best browsers on the Internet now. It's fast, lightweight, and very flexible. This thread is dedicated to the extensions that allow you to browse how you want to browse.
EXTENSIONS
Utilities/Tools
Ad-Block Plus for Chrome - The same Ad Block Plus that Firefox users have enjoyed for years. It blocks ads, and allows you to block any image (Like Pnuckup's avatar). Also AdBlock and AdSweep - Because Fuck ads -Suggested by nicatronTg

MyIP - Displays your IP address, approximate location, and ISP. Useful if you host servers and other such shamanism. -Suggested by SGTNAPALM

FlashBlock and Better Popup Blocker - Blocks more annoying stuff that ruins the internet for everyone -Suggested by Phyxius

Auto Refresh Plus - Use this for countdowns and the like that can go out of sync -Suggested by nicatronTg

Google Voice- Its like having a mobile phone in your browser! -Suggested by nicatronTg

LessClick - Automatically bypasses Ad.fly and other sites that have delayed "click to continue" warnings -Suggested by nicatronTg

Personal blacklist - Blocks websites from appearing in search results (experts exchange, FixYa, etc) -Suggested by nicatronTg

WOT - Shows how trustworthy websites are, and warns you if you're entering an untrusted website. Community maintained. Suggested by DrKinkyKinkles

Nope - Warns you about fake hyperlinks, like www.google.com - Suggested by kimr120

Auto HD for youtube - Starts Youtube videos at their highest video quality available [56K WARNING] instead of whatever the hell Youtube feels like giving you. -Suggested by Smurfy

Chrome to Phone - Requires Android Phone, but lets you copy links over from your desktop to your cell phone for a less interrupted experience - Suggested by Jarnz

Slick RSS - An incredibly sexy RSS reader that is fully contained in the browser - Suggested by Black0ut

Chromey Calculator - A shockingly versatile scrolling calculator for Chrome. Results are generated using Google and Wolfram|Alpha. - Suggested by Black0ut

IEtab - Opens a tab containing Internet Explorer. Useful if you're on an old website made only to work with bad browsers. - Suggested by Black0ut

Goo.gl URL shortener - goo.gl url shortener is an extension which allows you to shorten the current website URL with the Google URL Shortener service http://goo.gl/ - Suggested by wlzshroom

    Social/Interwebs
Better Music Beta for Google Music - Adds a button on your omnibar that allows you to control your google music directly from the tab you are currently in. You have to be in the Google Music Beta to use this. There are also a variety of addons that do this same thing, so choose which one fits you.

Feedly - Like Google Reader but cooler. Essentially creates an auto updating magazine taking content from sites as they update. Also in App form. -Suggested by Phyxius

The +1 Extension - +1 on every page -Suggested by nicatronTg See Also: Like+1 - Turns every Like button into a Like and a +1 button in one click -Suggested by nicatronTg

Anesidora - Pandora becomes a button on the omnibar and you don't need a separate tab for it now! - Suggested by Blackizzle

Google Mail Checker - Displays the number of unread messages in your Google Mail inbox. You can also click the button to open your inbox. - Suggested by The Baconator

RedditCompanion is a must have if you use reddit

AwfulVision adds the emotes from SA ( until recently we had those on facepunch too) to any website

Dis.Like.Es Adds the dislike button to facebook

Send To Kindle Send any website to your kindle

Comment Snob - Filters out idiotic remarks in the comments section of several websites, based on a handful of rules that you can specify.

A personal appeal from Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales - For those who don't want to see any website without Jimmy's sad yet reassuring stare.

Invisible Hand - Invisible until you start shopping for something, at which point a yellow bar appears at the top of the page informing you if you can get the product cheaper elsewhere.

Youtube Options - Basically Minimalist for youtube. Most notably gives the option to hide comments completely, choose the default video quality and size and make it so videos don't autoplay.

Minimalist everything - Slims down Gmail and Reader, gives a wealth of options.

    Chrome Improvements
Smooth Scroll - Yes, the link leads to 2shared instead of the Chrome store, this is because it was removed from the chrome store for some reason. It works fine for all of us though, so continue/start using at your own risk. The Smooth Scroll extension does what it looks like. It changes the default Chrome scrolling from a choppy nightmare into a beautifully smooth ride. It allows for total customization of the speed with many options and presets that allow you to fully control your scrolling experience. If you need an alternative to this, Lyoko774 likes This.

Thin Scroll Bar - The Thin Scroll Bar extension shrinks the current fat and ugly scroll bar into an anorexic super model scroll bar. It measures 3 pixels wide to ensure a good combination of visibility and un-intrusiveness.

APNG - Allows you to see APNG images in Chrome, just like Firefox and Opera. Be aware that it doubled my resource usage, so I disabled mine.

Speed Dial 2 - Replaces the current 'New Tab' screen with a sexy customizable one. Lets you choose the number of rows, columns, and size of the thumbnails, along with other options. Your bookmarks and history are still accessible by moving your mouse to the right side of the screen.

LastPass - Better integrated password manager. Syncs across browsers and devices -Suggested by Phyxius

TooManyTabs - Shows a preview of all of your tabs at once. Useful if you use a ton of tabs and can't remember where you left your car keys Facepunch -Suggested by CakeMaster7

Google Dictionary - Double Click a word to see the definition! -Suggested by Phyxius

Aperture Highlights - Like Google Dictionary except with Wikipedia, Twitter, Google, and tacos. -Suggested by Leather Belt

Go to IMDb - Highlight text and IMDb will give you the rating for it. Only works on actual movies, so don't get too excited about seeing your favorite porno's IMDb rating. - Suggested by Black0ut

IMDb Rotten Tomatoes info - Adds Rotten Tomatoes data to the main IMDb page of a movie. Pretty useful if you ask me. - Suggested by Black0ut

Search by Image - Adds an option to search google by image to your right click menu (only on images, of course) - Suggested by Black0ut

Youtube Original Comment Viewer - Probably the greatest thing on here. It's seriously so amazing for everybody ever. Also, made by Overv, that one cool mod.

PanicButton is a great extension that allows you to save and then hide your tabs and even set up a password to prevent someone else from accessing them.

Smooth Gestures - Gestures and shit, yo. Warning, your behavior may spill over into normal non-Chrome usage and confuse you.

Orbvious Interest Read It Later for Chrome

FauxBar - New tab page is all like the Firefox awesome bar. Apparently its pretty cool.

Neat Bookmarks - Puts a little icon that gives you access to your bookmarks to the right of the omnibar.
APPS
Springpad - Springpad is a note-taking webapp, and the extension can be used to quickly pull notes up while browsing, and can be used to bookmark links and pages. You can then organize notes from there and give out public links to lists, etc.
    -Suggested by SGTNAPALM

Gmail - Gmail in browser application form. -Suggested by SGTNAPALM

Google Reader - Google Reader in Browser application form -Suggested by SGTNAPALM

Feedly - Like Google Reader but cooler. Essentially creates an auto updating magazine taking content from sites as they update. Also in Extension form. -Suggested by Phyxius

Read Later Fast - Lets you save web pages for later reading, even when you aren't online! Suggested by wlzshroom

    ------------------------------------------------
Feel free to suggest any extensions below and include a short description, link to the extension, and maybe a small picture, and I'll add it to the OP.

Social Fixer - is a free browser extension that improves the Facebook site by eliminating annoyances and adding lots of great enhancements and functionality. It runs in most browsers and installs in just a minute.

I honestly can't stand Facebook in it's virgin-vanilla state. (Gotta have my Classic Chat)

Checker Plus for Gmail™ Lets you view your mail from the extension, so you don't have to go to the gmail page, unless you want to.

Looks of Disapproval Allows you to add your own smilies such as "ಠ_ಠ" and paste it anytime you need it so you don't have to go open up that special characters thing...

Bookmark Sentry Scans your bookmarks for any duplicates, and reminds you if you are creating an existing bookmark.

View Thru Allows you to see full URLs behind shortened URLs.

Search by Image (by Google) Adds the option to search an image by right clicking on the image and selecting the "search' function. It's useful for if you want to find a specific image on the web on another website or something.

That wouldn't really works so well since you won't be able to change the settings of the incognito, nor would you be able to allow or disallow some extensions from running in incognito, there's also the sync feature that's in Google Chrome. Unless somehow someone manages to isolate that tab and allow it to change the browser into incognito mode JUST for that tab.

Why isn't this built into youtube.
I might be late on this, but it already has been.

Well, you could just extend the URL bar to hide the extensions you don't want, it'll give you this arrow thing that you can click on to show a drop down list of the extensions.

it's useful for people who don't know CSS but want to change fonts on a website or change/hide certain elements to their liking. If you're a developer, I guess it's useful to see updates to your website in real time using this, I believe there's a "Advanced" option for more flexibility

Since this is the closest thing to a chrome thread:

I used to use scratchpad on my old @gmail address. It showed in the background apps tray icon. I changed to using a custom apps domain, and now it won't show in the background tray icon. It's not that big of a deal, but it is nice to be able to take notes without chrome being open.

Ughh, looks like it got removed from the web store AGAIN... Anyone know what's up with that, why does it keep being removed? It doesn't happen to any of the other smooth scroll extensions. This is the only one thats any good and it keeps mysteriously disappearing. Luckily I was able to back up the .crx

Doesn't help that the smooth scrolling flag has been broken for the past three releases either.

I just got a new computer and I can't remember the name of one of the extensions I used to have. Or if it was part of some other extension. Basically when I was at the bottom of a page, to get back to the top all I had to do was hold right click and move the mouse wheel, and bang! Instantly to the top.

Does anyone know of any such extension?

Social Fixer extension. Holy crap its amazing. I could NEVER go back to Facebook without it. Its fully customizable so you can do whatever you want.

    EDIT:

Shit son it looks like it might have taken down. But i still get updates from the guy. Weird.
