Hey guys, I have an awesome neighbor who gave me and my brother a bunch of old models from the 50's to 80's. Most are from an old models company called "Aurora". The company closed down and no longer produces these any more, they are pretty cool a bunch of planes, ships, and cars. There's one Tank too!

Here's my Panther Tank(I don't have any decals they are too old to use)

Here's the Albatross, WW1 Biplane

And here's my bro's Zero, I have no idea how his decals worked, mine disinigrated

So I hope this got some people into modeling it's really fucking cool, especially how you can paint what ever the fuck you want on it.

The next 2 I will be painting and building are the Sopwith Camel

And the Supermarine Spitfire

The one's that are over 50 bucks I leave alone, but the 10-50$ range are fair game.
Also it you be a dick move to sell them when my neighbor gave them to us

You should take a look at Flames of War, it is a wargame like Warhammer, and you still assemble and paint the miniatures yourself.

My grandpa gave me some of these years ago, and I bought one at one point. He gave me a German Half Track, a USS Forrestal Aircraft Carrier, and a Shelby Series 1 car. I bought a '66 Malibu SS. I have all the paint, tools, and stuff but I never put one of these together. Maybe that can be a little project later this year or next year.

I did several models when I was younger like a Sopwith Camel and a few tanks.

Recently though I have acquired a MiG21 kit that was made in Czechoslovakia in the 80s. I don't know if I should build it or not, I'm not a very good painter.

I tried to make a model airplane once, because i would love to paint it, i love painting small toys like that.

but in the end all i got put together was the fuselage before i got pissed because of the tail wings wouldn't stay on so i abandoned it.

I would probably do better painting W40K models (heavens no i wont try to play the game, i just like painting models) because they don't have to be assembled as much as model planes

The only thing I used to build was model cars and boats. I trashed them a long time ago, then I went though the phase of building rockets (the ones you can launch) I think I lost at least 5 of them. I think 3 are orbiting the planet at the moment, one of them simply made it a few feet in the air and blew up and the other one was descending back to the ground and before I could get to it some asshole stole it and ran off with it.

My history teacher from high school (this one), who was turned into an English teacher because he taught out of the norm and also taught all the bad and morbid stuff they tend not to talk about in history, used to have his room filled with flags and model planes hanging everywhere and little battle reenactments with toy soldiers and model tanks and vehicles, and he had hanging florescent lights that he had battleships and submarine models on...

Twas awesome. At the end of the year he gave some away.

When I was like 8, my parents thought I was playing too many video games, so they bought me a whole bunch of WW2 model trucks, tanks and planes to assemble, it was fun when Dad and I were making them but it just made me want to play WW2 games.

Do they even make Plastic model kits of trains? I know ive seen like 3 at a store which has closed down now, but Id like to buy some.

It's from James May's toy stories. But it was epic. He got a bunch of school kids to put it together, trying to ignite the near dead love of modelling.
It's made from fiber glass. The company that May got to make them with were skeptical that it was capable of being done. But they managed sort of. It was a bit flimsy in places. may got a model done of himself that sits in the cockpit and it's now in an air museum in Britain.

Yeah, which sucks. I could buy actual working trains and just make them static models, but its way too expensive.

I wish there were more plastic model trains.
