But yeah, dragon is overpriced as fuck. But goddamn they make great miniatures imo.
Not my diorama, it's rad though.
I used to be pretty into this. Every summer I would build a model for 4H's "scale models" division and put it in the county fair. Here's some pics:
Man these are dusty...
This one is a ship called "Xizor's virago." I think it's from Star Wars EU (haven't read any, so I'm not sure). It's got a mechanism that moves the lower wings when you move the upper wings/vice versa, but I broke it somewhere in the assembly process so it doesn't work.
This one was a pretty big headache. The glue I used melted the plastic, making certain areas really difficult. Also, one of the sets of landing gear broke and fell inside. If I ever do any more models, I'll definitely be more careful which glue I use.
I have the same Du Pont stock car model!
Never attempt to do models when you're ill and not thinking straight. In my fustration at perfectly smoothing over one of the landing gear struts on my Ta 183, I snapped the thing in half somehow and it pinged off to forever be lost in my room. I've put the kit on hold until I can find a similar spare part in another kit to finish it off. To cheer myself up I've now started work on a Short Sterling only to discover that the fusalage halfs are bent sideways...
this actually seems really fucking cool
i'll tell my mom to pick me up one next time shes at the thrift store or some shti
want to make e-100
piles of sheet styrene and modeling supplies sitting next to me
Repainted some old dragon guy
I still have loads of stuff i need to make (Airfix VE day set and a few other little things) but i am terrible at painting them.
Currently finished one, also bought this
Total of 8 dragon miniatures, have I.
If you need miniatures, get a dragon set, imo they make the best men.
Tomorrow I'll post the new Albatross, and tell me if you guys like it. Then I'll try to do the decals
i managed to possibly ruin my 76 hetz i got 2 days ago by fucking up one of the rubber tracks horribly.
and now i remembered why i love and hate rubber tracks.
German Panzer Grenadiers in Harkiv 1943
Im a Pretty shit Figurine painter and I painted this guy two years ago, and I found a picture what I took. well here it is
I used to build and paint models like these.
I remember the brother of one of my friends. His entire room was filled with WW2 scale models, and he built his own scale environments. Like fields, forests etc.
Finally decided to actually make some of the stuff i have had for years. Started the 1:35 scale M60 Tank i have.
Only models I ever made were Zoids when I was younger. Pretty sure a lot of them came pre-painted, though, so that's half the work already done.
I've got a crappy Mi-24 hind, an F-22R (Unpainted, and one of the rudder thingies broke ;-;) a scale model of the USS New Jersey, and an aircraft carrier I'm not sure the name of. I was going to build an abrams but I lost the instructions.
The Mi-24 is the only one that is painted.
Wow. The 1:35 scale M60 i'm making has some little hook things so small i can hardly see them. No chance i'm going to be able to get them where they belong so i'm not going to put them on.
And about the basement part. Warhammer is a very social game. You play with people face to face.
My first miniatures that I have ever painted.
(First guy I painted on the right and newest one on the left.)
As strange as this may seem. Warhammer has improved my life greatly. I have a new hobby that isn't related to my pc. Meaning that I get off my computer more often.
I do something creative whilst learning a new skill, painting. Not saying that I will be painting Mona Lisa anytime soon but you get the idea.
So I say, go for it!
Here's a bonus picture of when two guys were playing at a local store that I visited.
Need to finish it up sometime.
But, road wheels...
recommend the revell professional glue. It comes with a tin metal pipe and you have to squeez pretty ard but that's good. Also uploading pivs of my revell H.M.S finnjet tomorrow (1:400)!
I want to build an airfix formula 1 car, but there's none on their website, anyone recommend some alternatives?
i always wanted to do a warhammer model just for display but they are so ridiculously expensive for what you get compared to other model companies
I have a scale model of the USS Indianapolis that I've never finished assembling. My glue dried up and I never got around to buying more...
It's really cool though. Someday...I will get back to it. Someday...
