If i'm not mistaken, Greedo never shot at all in the theatrical versions of the original trilogy. Greedo only shot in the special editions, meaning that's the only situation in which Han could shoot first at all.

Greedo never shot off to being with. That's how much the special editions have tainted the original.

This is true. Originally, right after Han says "Yes, I bet you have" there is an explosion and Greedo drops dead on the table. There's not even the wide shot of Han leaning back before Han fires.

what Special Edition scenes to you guys like?

The shot of Oola, or what ever her name is (The Twi'Lik Dancer on Jabba's palace) shown in the Rancor pit was shot for the VHS Special edition (same actress too, originally I believe you just saw her fall), and really doesn't detract from the experience.

The full CG shot of the X-Wings approaching the first Death Star I don't mind. (hell for the longest time I didn't even realize it was CG when I was younger)

The thing with Star Wars is that it has always used whatever was most advanced and available at the time. Lucas hasn't become heartless and mush, he's just caught up in the tech craze. If the prequels were made today they'd be 3D films.

In my opinion the Prequels should've been made in the early 90's. When CGI was still too crap to overuse and models and hard work/creativity was available in buckets. Would've have made the films a million times better. Infact if it wasn't for CGI, Episode 1s technique is brilliant. Models and puppets and real explosions. But because CGI was around we get crap looking Jar Jar and Bigger fish.

But the fact is, they weren't. Lucas has altered his original work. And the prequels HAPPENED.

Kids are gonna grow up with 6 star wars movies and know no different. And they're going to love them all. Because when it comes to Star Wars it's the children audience that will be the big draw. And they're honestly not going to care if Han shoots first because they won't even know it's wrong. My Nephew doesn't.

They'll be pissed in a decade though when Lucas re-releases them again and Lucas has changed some minute detail in Episode 1.
Yeah no he's just a shit director (or is now). With 4 he was still new the studio had more power and the editor told him to go fuck himself, he didn't direct 5, and 6 is eh only because of Ewoks. But already in 6 you start to see the whole "every conversation takes on place on a couch with over shoulder shots" horrible dialog BS

Look closely at that scene in the CG version. They are all Red 5 (the number of red stripes on the wing). They are all Luke. GJ editing fuckups

    Better then Red 3.

Almost every single X-wing in any game, toy, game modification unless they are specifically not Red 3, always seems to be Red 3.

Also I didn't even notice the stripes represented different numbers until around 5-6 years ago, it is one of the details you don't notice unless you're really paying attention.

    Edited:

I'm so tempted to Pre-order the Full trilogy instead of just OT.

Amazon.ca has it for $90 instead of $170

Why must you tempt me Amazon, you're as bad as Steam.

Just finished showing my sister all 6 movies. According to her, they're her favorite movies (excluding Episodes I and II.). Not only that, but her favorite was Empire Strikes Back.

There might be hope for kids to be cultured. Just show them these at a young age; they deserve it.

Yep. So did I. (Although there was a little bit of over-the-top acting from Palpatine.)

It's definitely the best of the prequel trilogy, and in my opinion, a great movie. The Order 66 scene was fucking incredible.

    I'd have to agree actually.

Also it was great to see Chewbacca again. They even got the same actor from the OT. I mean they really didn't have to, I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have known any better. ( he was even in the Clone Wars studio for his appearance on the 3D show, he even made some of the Roars himself))

I believe the only Physical Wookiees in that movie were Chewie and Tarfful.

    Edited:

I just read this on Wookieepedia

According to the Revenge of the Sith DVD text commentary, during Yoda's "goodbye" scene to Chewbacca and Tarfful in the film, Tarfful's roar is actually Itchy's roar from The Star Wars Holiday Special.

I didn't even know ROTS had text commentary.

I geeked the BTS when I was a kid and I still remember how they made the kashyyk scene. They had like 10 wookies which they then copied.

I remember my dad buying the A New Hope vhs for me and showing it to me when I was young, like 5 or 6. He also rented The Empire Strikes Back vhs a little bit after and I remember thinking how dark that film was compared to ANH. Thanks dad :buddy:.

that's interesting. also, there were like ten or fifteen 6'5" people in wookiee costumes, the rest were CGI like jango's bajillion clones (although they were played by Temuera Morrison and a few other people in blue screen suits, no physical clone armor was made).

    Some Comparisons.

There is actually a positive change, there was a Shot in the Original (I mean THE original!) that was cut off on the right, it was fixed.

    Edited:

Strangely enough, the Lightsabers in ROTJ were 'fixed' but, they were not in the first 2.

I really didn't like the animated series though, also did anybody here about the TV adapatian George Lucas is making for Star Wars?
Each one will be around twenty minutes long and the original cost for EACH one is more then a full feature length film. He is still adjusting thing's to get it to work out.

    Also KOTOR best games ever.

"The untitled Star Wars live-action TV series is a planned space opera television series, [1] set between the events seen in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.[2]
The project, first announced in 2005 by Star Wars creator George Lucas,[3] is currently on hold due to budgetary concerns."

Short article I found on Wiki, all the information that I saw that in the newspaper.
Personally I can believe the cost thing, George Lucas went big and bold in the 1980's with limited technology, he would surely want to let rip with all the current features available to him.

that's because george lucas is retarded and tried to make the films into some kind of half baked 'politically correct' shitfest though the magic of CG, such as making greedo shoot first and removing the impact flashes when blaster bolts hit stormtroopers for some reason
