Just had the first sun in weeks here, so I grabbed my camera and experimented a bit with the lighting. Found out that my closet worked perfectly as a reflector.
It's not easy to get enough distance when you only have a 50mm at your disposal.

Minus the cat.

Going into a bit more detail on this one, this was basically just using a setting for nice bokeh + pose practice. Can I get some crit on my pose or just the photo in general? Appreciated in advance :)
like i said, hand on head is hot shit. photo is phenomenal, i love the focus and the colors.
i think maybe a wider framing and your back less slouched forward would benefit your cause.
what was behind you that produced that much bokeh?
Guessing it's a bush
It was in the tiny nature reserve across the road from me. It's like one big tree rooted on the left of the frame that overhangs a great deal with a bunch of bush trees in the background.
This is the best I can do from streetview, I was where I highlighted in maroon.
Edited:
The camera was point to the left end of this picture.
i found a tlr in my closet

wow, lucky.
Not me, but quite a flattering picture of a good friend after we both ate a Five Guys burger with everything on it. (crappy facebook compression, too lazy to upload elsewhere) It pretty much describes him.

Thats the Australian Native Bokehbush, only found in certain areas - this bush has tiny little hairs on its leaves which capture sunlight to allow it to photosynthesise much faster compared to other plants. Another feature of these fine hairs is that to the naked eye, they look normal. However through a camera lens, the chromatic aberration fringes off the leaves in such a way that makes them appear to be completely out of focus, even at apertures up to f/22.

Haircut. Also a bit of an explanation for this one. I like to think of it as the sunlight on the left is streaming out (there are some faint light streaks in the middle) and hitting me. My expression is like that "mmm" feeling is from the warmth you get when you walk out into the sunshine on cold day. Also god damn, trying to walk with a tripod, a camera and a piano stool is firstly not easy, and secondly extremely suspicious![]()

Oh man I had been meaning to get a flash and do this thing
Read about it somewhere. What's the other light, though? Zippo lighter?
Yeah, it was a zippo haha. Surprisingly enough we were all completely sober for this.
