In old minecraft you would have encountered Far Lands at around 12,000,000 blocks from the center of the map. That would take 820 hours of walking....

Now the world is 30,000,000 blocks from the center big, making it more infinite than before.. The only difference is that it now suddenly stops i believe....

Save As...
Select Save as Type "All"
Then save it as whatever.bat

Use whatever.bat to launch Minecraft with more allocated memory.

Fucking stronghold, I've been trying to rebuild one in creative, only to get myself lost all over (now I have to place signs everywhere telling me which direction is what) and when I think I'm done I either find a set of stairs going up or down and there we go again...

Found a generated village with a church thing, spend ages making the church look creepy and begin to dig a lovecraftian style shrine thing under it, drop into a cave and follow the cave passage thing.
It leads to a spiral stronghold staircase!
That's my second stronghold found now.

@jeb Got a lot of work done today, but not enough for release! And my crash bug disappeared when I successfully installed 64bit java...

Back in the days, Notch actually worked overtime and did midnight releases...
