To be honest, I don't like the white sides much at all, and I think it would look better greyish, but not as dark as the faceplate.
edit: added a shitty paintover, made the white bit darker, and made the whatever on the left pic, shinier.

You also referenced the Flash (by name) as an inspiration for the Bonk Boy. The BLU and BLU alternate styles I made are based on the Flash's rival, Professor Zoom, who uses an inverted color scheme.Yeah you could use layers you know... idk what's up with making it so flashy(ponies?
), I did make the #1 fan set quite flashy already since the scout character is quite immature and on purpose making the pistol look kinda toy-ish.
As for the "bright" color scheme, I assumed (because it was written) from the #1 Fan set that the items were promotional swag from the BONK! cola company, which was a common advertising strategy back in the '60s as it is today. TF2 used to parody that with the descriptions of the item updates, especially with the Force-A-Nature page.
Hence, all of the colors are either direct samples of the BONK! soda labels or taken from the TF2 paint palettes. MLP has nothing to do with this (though several fans really like my Crit-A-Cola mask. ;))
If you don't like the brightness of them, it isn't my fault, and honestly, it looks great using the BONK colors, especially with other BONK items equipped. I do agree that it's a bad idea to make it paintable, because that destroys the #1 Fan's impression as promo swag.

It would look better if the edge was bigger. The texture can also be used to help define the sharpened metal of the edge from the flat metal of the rest of the blade.

All-Class GIANT Headtaker can now work thanks to saxxy animations, but has some positioning issues where you would hit people with the side of the axe on most classes, Here is Proof:
Would appreciate someone fixing that, and making it into a released mod here in the emporium. Regular headtaker could work too, i guess...

Middle box looks good, just clean it up a bit: shrink the logos, reduce the amount of dots
Maybe for the bottom one you could do a pattern like a falling cascade of bullets, like this:

best guess would be in the idle animation - rip it from the regular sandvich plate, should be good.
