eternal reward i believe
I don't think Chemicalia (or whatever her name was) is an animator. Could be wrong, though.
That was a valve made animation.
sorry to keep posting about this, but i was just wondering on how to go about unwrapping this ugly thing
i've only done basic uvs before, so i'm a bit stumped here
any help would be appreciated!
Just as I thought. So not a single community contributed animation has been added in, yet we live in a world where TF2 is desperate for some new animations.
It's a peculiar circle.
Contributors and players alike would like to see more variety. Some contributors can create those animations and make it happen, at least for mods.
The TF team is allegedly incapable of accepting new animations, so this forces contributors to either abide by the pre-existing animations already in the game (many of which are so limited that it's difficult to make something new and unique that still fits the character's hands ie Engineer's animations). Otherwise, things that require new animations can only be submitted with blind hope that the TF team makes a new animation to accommodate it (Your Eternal Reward being the first to ever get one) or they get added and don't look so great in the character's hands (Widowmaker comes to mind).
Either accept new animations or make new animations--the TF team doesn't seem to be able to do either at this point in time.
Why can't they accept? You mean insofar as they're not doing so?
oh god i exited out of 3ds max and saw this picture, i thought i had a conversation up with neo but then i realized my name wasn't sanic, so i thought i was suddenly in a group chat
I'm not exactly sure on the specifics. I'm only going off of what I've heard.
The fact that no community-contributed submissions/fixes have been accepted is a flag denoting that they either cannot or will not accept them.
It's like when you're watching a video and the video has the Steam chat sound in it out of nowhere, so you look for a message at the bottom of your screen.![]()
Someone needs to make those Chicken Legs for the Scout that I've requested about 3 times now.
I WILL NOT REST
I WILL NOT SLEEP FOR AN INSTANT
UNTIL I GET MY CHICKEN LEGS
Hey guys, how do you suggest I Christmas-ify this into a concept art?

My second attempt at making a TF2 model. I need to figure out how to make the band on the hat look similar to the ones on the Spy's other hats, and how to make the monocle look metallic without affecting the rest of the hat. Also, no texture shows up under the brim of the hat. Getting the chain for the monocle jiggleboned would be nice, too. Any feedback is appreciated.
Recalculate your normals.
Also you could do with making the band actual geometry for the hat instead of being a part of the texture itself.
Woo, I took a big break on this (I blame Saints Row), but I'm ready to texture now, I think.
That was done ages ago.
I recall someone emailing them about it. Though, the response was more or less "Custom animations are harder to get in so submissions that don't need animations have higher chances of getting in than those that do."
Supposedly. Animating isn't my specialty, so I can't say how it is in Source.
nightmare fuel
Did you extrude every faces without keeping them together?
Why must you taunt us with your great animations that you never released....
Needs a style with the house burning down and the snowman half-melted.
can i get the KnifeMare to replace your eternal reward?
this what you're looking for? it's kind of simple really...
Knifemare uses v_models and w_models while Eternal Reward uses c_models.
Needless to say I like the style of the official draw animation more. It feels more stealthy/creepy like.
Good thing i wasn't ever going to finish this, it's nearly impossible to animate it with the sleeve.
ffffffffffffffffff
If Valve can do it, I'm pretty sure you can do it better.
YES
...FUCK

If I'm not mistaken, the draw animation is just the Knife's animation for the Spy's hand but a different animation for the weapon itself. Then there's the clipping with the sleeve, which I think is part of why Spark went in a different direction with his animation.
I may or may not be doing this right.
