What drivers have people been using for the Radeon HD Series? I have a 6970 and I see ATI has Windows 8 preview drivers on their website. In a recent Windows update, it mucked up CCC so it would only show 3 options in the CCC, and completely removing all ATI software + driver and re-installing the Windows 7 driver and CCC did nothing to help fix it. I ended up re-installing Windows 8 and I haven't installed any drivers for my videocard yet.

Thanks, I will install it when I get home. This time around I am making sure Windows will not automatically update hardware drivers because I think that's what screwed me up.

Well I just finished isntalling the CCC for Windows 7, and this is what it looks like:

I have no options for my videocard. I am using HDMI to connect to my monitor and right now I have these awful black borders because I can't use CCC to upscale the picture. Any ideas?

The Vision Control Center is different from CCC. I've only seen that on laptops. Did you install the right package/installer?

    Thanks for trying anyways!

    Edited:

I am going to try the 11.12 drivers, because I think my problem started after 12.1 was released yesterday.

You know is there such a thing as a Windows compatibility wiki or database? That'd be a good place to put this.

    Edited:

The Vision control center is a rebranded CCC that appears if you have an AMD CPU with an AMD GPU.

-Added most recent games submitted by Sam Za Nemisis to master list.
    -Added a console emulator section.

    Edited:

-All steam games have been hyperlinked to their steam store pages. This took roughly half an hour to do, so I hope you appreciate it.

It should work, unless it has some sort of advanced Anti-hack that wont run in Windows 8, that verifies the OS's version number, rather than actual compatibility. (Case in Point: Rusty Hearts works, but the anti-cheat/hack utility is not designed for 8, so thus, the game doesn't work.)

Added Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, with Link to Steam Store Page.

I had trouble with OpenGL mode being forced to software mode. Have an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200. Using default Win8 Drivers since AMD driver installs don't detect this model for some reason.

It is considerably quicker than 7, stability is a bit iffy though.

I think that a lot of the stability issues are hardware related. I haven't had a single crash yet, but some people report a bazillion. Premature drivers and stuff, I guess. You might have a load of problems, and you might have none. I recommend dual-booting.

Kinda obvious at this point, but I'm just gonna go ahead and confirm that CS:GO works ~just fine~ on nearly every combination of graphics settings.

    Here's a few others
    -----------------
    Emulator Title: DeSmuME
    Windowed: Yes
Fullscreen: Yes (chronic stuttering and framerate loss are present though)
    Tablet Compatible: Unknown
    -----------------
    Title: Ghost Recon Online (Beta)
    Windowed: No
Fullscreen: Yes (i noticed major hiccups (skipping a ton of frames sometimes) but that could be because ubisoft cannot into servers)
    On Steam: No
    -----------------
    Title: Tribes Ascend
    Windowed: Yes
    Fullscreen: Yes
On Steam: No (for now at least)
    -----------------
    Title: Mass Effect
    Windowed: Yes
    Fullscreen: Yes
    On Steam: Yes
    -----------------
    Title: Mirror's Edge
    Windowed: Yes
Fullscreen: Yes (noticeable drop in fps on lower to middle end hardware though)
    On Steam: Yes

Gonna try Borderlands out for myself even though the OP says it doesn't work

If any of these were mentioned in the thread but not added to the OP, I apologize for not reading. I just want to contribute.

Gonna be painful adding in the next batch of games to the list. I should make a way to automate it somehow... Like adding tags to words to automatically replace them with the proper BB Code.

Additional Notes: Game may crash in single player when you toss a frag grenade, also closing the game may use more RAM than normal for 20 seconds (RANDOM)
