I love how it jumps from loud to quiet, and that part with the hammer freaked me out the first time I watched it.

I've watched lots of things with long term static graphics, such as NFL games, and have never seen even temporary burn in. Even an NFL game that goes overtime, 4+ hours, with "CBS" in the same spot the whole time won't burn in. I have a less than two year old set though, I can't say how bad the earlier generations were.

The plasma picture is tops unless you go with a quality LED LCD, but then you'll be spending twice the cost of the same size plasma. For my uses, movies and sports, plasma is really the way to go. For gaming a cheap LCD is probably a better bet.

New plasmas don't have that problem I think, but they're still outdated technology that doesn't look as good as LCD tv's
