The Sunken Island, a Minecraft Survival Challenge!
The Sunken Island, created with worldpainter.
The Island is a mysterious island full of stuff to discover, there are dungeons, abandoned huts, lots of materials, and an awesome landscape.
You can choose to just use this map as a survival map for regular minecrafting, or you can try the challenge mode, in which you have to complete all of the challenges to finish the map.
The Challenges!
Gather 20 Slimeballs
Find the abandoned hut
Explore the inside of the mountains
Build a two story house with at least 10 windows
Build a help sign out of bricks
Find 10 diamonds
Make a wheat farm
Make a cactus farm
Make a sugar reed farm
destroy two mob spawners
Build a waterfall
Slay at least 5 creepers
Collect an ender pearl
Make a giant red mushroom
Build something from stone bricks
Make some mushroom stew
Make a cake
Build a statue
Build a MobTrap
Make 5 Jack-o-lanterns

How does one install maps such as these? I've never done it before but i don't think i can pass up on this.
EDIT: Nevermind, i figured it out.

Go to the Start Menu, launch the "Run" program, and type in "%appdata%" without the quotes. Click on .minecraft, then go into the saves folder and drag the folder from the .zip into it.

So after uploading this to my server and importing it into Multiverse I found the most hard to reach place in the mountain caves and created a bedrock room with a 2 block opening at one end and a portal at the other (which leads back to the main creative world) then placed loads of spawners in/near said room.
Persistent rule breakers get teleported to Sunken Island and have to find their way out.
Either they'll leave and never come back or make it through and never break a rule ever again

Me and my BF's progress on this map, it's only snowing because of 1.9.3

It's the same on our map, although it hasn't snowed yet, but ice starts to form everywhere.

This looks pretty kicking rad, I'll have to check this island out.
Also, this inspires me to make epic Worldpainter/MCEdit adventure maps. I already made some sort of chain of islands in a lava sea, but it was really laggy for whatever reason.

Just started this map about 15, 20 minutes ago. I'm on my second night. I've gotten a small hut built with necessities. The slimes are a killer, but food is plentiful.
I've also found the atmosphere is amplified by listening to crashing wave ambiance and the Fallout 3 explore tracks.

Loving all your feedback, and the ice? Is that because you guys are using pre release 1.9?
In 1.8 i didn't have snow or ice.

Looks very nice! I love how "crazy" everything looks: the water drop, the mountains, the cave... I hope you wont mind me doing a video series on this map

To be completely honest, a version where it's not "sunken" would be rad. It's awesome either way, though :)

The slimes are literally invading, and so is the ice. Other than that, this is a pretty awesome map, I'm addicted to it.

Play on 1.8 if the ice really bothers you, as for the slimes, well, you could use something like single player commands i guess.

I love this map so far. I made my house near the shore and trapped a sheep in my house. I was chopping down some trees and i noticed some roses in a weird pattern. I dug down where the middle rose was and i found this chest full of goods, nice little surprise. Oh you sneaky bastard, I climbed to the top of the mountain and found iron blocks. So i start digging down, collecting a long line of iron and i get a very bad feeling. I dig one block over and break another piece of iron and bam, i would've fell to my death if i was on that block. Sneaky, i love it.
