[Arctic Aveng]

I'd like to play, even in the winter, but I heard that the temperature can damage your gun? For example, my gun is an AEG, CYMA 028U.

All I know is that the battery of an AEG isn't going to last long in the cold. But what els is there? Could my gun freeze up? At what temperature bellow 0 do I not use it?
What factors do I need to take into consideration? Anny tips will be apreciated.



And, out of curiosity, why don't people use the Gas/CO2 guns in winter?

In the winter the gases in gas guns are colder(no shit), so they don't expand as well.

AEG gear boxes can crack apparently. I've never seen it happened, but it's something to consider. The only thing you really have to do is get one of those glove warmers and shove it where ever you keep your battery to keep it warm, otherwise it'll die out.

That aside I knew a guy who's hop-up did some funny things in the cold. But he's gay so I didn't think any thing of it.

Co2 works fine in the winter. Increases FPS actually so another consideration, most people switch to Co2 sidearms in the Winter. Propane that Gas-Guns use typically freezes after a shot or two and can explosively fail on rare occasion and expel the entire mag of gas or just rack the slide off the frame and into your face when you fire.

To my knowledge the only gearboxes that crack in cold weather are the old TM v2s. Most if not all are reenforced now and don't suffer that problem

I heard that batteries run out faster in cold. Uncomfirmed rumors tho.

Maybe they provide less power but last longer because the electrons are moving slower.

Ive played in the winter with a CM035, and it worked flawlessly. I just had to keep the battery topped off at a charging station between rounds due to there not being enough room in the receiver cover for a hand warmer. It was blizzard conditions too, so there was thick, heavy snow pouring down, and everything was soaked. Still worked like a champ.

If you just keep the battery warm and not get you gun to wet you should be fine. I prefer not to play in the winter cause it wears me out fast, especially when there's alot of snow on the ground and wind constenly blowing it sucks.

I shoot my KWA KM4 with an 11.1LiPo in the winter time here in Colorado with no issues. I also have a KWA Mark II that doesn't get issues until about >40f. I have played in 2f with my rifle and had no issues though.

The coldest temperature ever recorded in Va (where tankman's from) is -30.
And that was over 30 years ago.
