It's not crap. It's a very useful software. Normally it was just used to see what takes most time to launch on start up. The thing I'm posted is something new and it keeps doing that. Done it for a long time now.

What is a good case to get for a gaming build in which I want to focus on cooling as well as USB 3 availability? I've lost track. Is Antech Twelve Hundred still as good as it used to be? Although it doesn't have USB 3 ports as far as I'm aware.

Everytime I switch on my pc it makes a horrid grinding noise, hitting the side near the power seems to fix it. I know, I shouldn't hit it. Any help?

Its the fan isolate the fan making the problem then replace it.

If a wire was hitting it, would not make a loud grinding noise.

One of my fans does this on cold boot.

if you mean as a media center, yeah, but you should just use the on board graphics so you're not using a ton of power for the 8800

I think that's kind of overpowered for a mediacenter, but if you get a lower power card and a small highly efficient PSU it could be good. Maybe underclock the CPU as well.

Just trying to load all my music onto the main hdd but its stating its going to take 1 day to do 8000 + files.
This is clearly not right its currently transfering at 700Kb/s before it took just under an hour to copy them off the hard drive before it failed.

Alright so my moms computer is pretty old and is slowing down, she's blaming it all on "viruses" (I'm sure there's a couple on there but computers slow down as time goes on anyways right?). She also has NO IDEA what she's doing on there so it makes it so much worse. There are a lot of unnecessary programs and crap constantly running.

Her boyfriends a bit of a twat and is trying to convince her to buy norton so she can clean up the computer, but I'm confident that there are better programs out there for free that'll do just as good, if not a better, a job. I have malwarebytes on my laptop (I think I have AVG too...) would that be a suitable replacement for norton? Does it have internet protection as well? (emails and crap). I'm not extremely tech savvy but I do sort of know what I'm doing so if there's anything else you think I should do I'll try to do it.

Okay so recently built a PC, for some medium level gaming etc, Specs are:

    i3 2100
    320GB OS HDD
    1TB Secondary Drive
    4GB Dual Channel 1600MHz Memory
    Sapphire HD5750 1GB GDDR5 Vapor-x GFX Card

End of the month I'll have around 150-200 for a system upgrade, currently with this system I can run games like GTA IV on max settings, albeit a not the highest resolution, would it be best to upgrade my graphics card, processor, or purchase an SSD?

Yeah, it's not a bad thing, reduced my compile times in Hammer Editor by a lot compared to my old Intel Core 2 Quad machine I had.

So a processor upgrade is a priority as opposed to the GFX card?

They're both priority but GTA 4 would perform tons better on a quad. However if you're going to be playing new games like Metro: Last Light or BF3 then Graphics card should be priority.

Okay I'll probably go ahead and grab a graphics card as opposed to a processor, because I'm happy with the way GTA IV runs at the minute as I don't play it as much as games like FO3, MW3 and Skyrim.

Any recommendations on a decent graphics card, I've seen a lot of people recommend a GTX 560ti but would that future proof me for a good while?
