virtual lan adapter
yeah I looked up vlan
but what is it, reading up made me dumber
afaik basically it separates shit from each other
people on vlan0 can't connect to vlan1's clients unless you config that they can
basically since you probably have wlan and lan on that vlan that just means you got everything glumped together and it's complicated shit routers do and forget that it exists
Computer audio just randomly died for me. I know it's not a headset issue nor something being muted since the computer's just not registering sound at all. When I tested with a youtube video it starts playing for a few seconds (without any sort of sound being picked up by either my headphones or that little icon in the lower right hand corner of my screen) and then acts as though it's continually loading.
Did a little research and it pointed me to it being a problem with my Multimedia Audio Controller. Sure enough, I checked under System Properties and there's a little yellow triangle next to it, stating "the drivers for this device are not installer (Code 28.) Driver provider is unknown, the rest is unavailable and when I tried to click "Update Driver" windows was almost immediately unable to find a driver for the controller.
What the hell should I do?
What's a good and lightweight program for temperature sensing? and where can I find usual operating temps for computer parts?
-snip-
figured it out
Hardware monitor.
And a simple google check can tell you.
Any suggestions on Pay2Use anti-viruses? My mom insists on paying for it and my Kaspersky is about to expire.
I posted this in the other topic but meh.
If she insists on paying for an AV, AV Comparatives just named Kaspersky their favorite antivirus of 2011.
Paying for an av is a waste.
MSE or avast + malwarebytes.
I'm considering getting some PC 2.1 speakers for my craptop and TV, so I can mainly listen to music on Spotify, Play on my old Xbox and watch films. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Headphones.
If you're set on speakers, Logitech Z323 aren't bad.
I need a 1TB Hard Drive to add to my PC so I can record footage from my games onto it instead of piling it all onto a my current HDD. Here are my specs;
Link to the 1TB HDD:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004HBAGSO
I paid £79.95 for that 1TB Seagate drive, but now it's up to about £91. What I am asking is; Are there any 1TB HDDs that are similar (if not better) in price and performance to the one I have now?
Is this hardware only? i had one question regarding C++...
There is a programming sub-forum you know
Spinpoint F3, Caviar Black
Could I get a link to the model please?
Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers.
I have some Sennheiser HD201's, want some speakers instead. Thanks for the suggestion!
Edited:
They look quite hard to get in the UK. I'd have to get them shipped over from NewEgg or somewhere like that, and that'd be both expensive and a waste of time. Thanks for the suggestion though.
Looking at the logitech g500 for £40 from scan.co.uk
Worth getting or is there another similar priced mouse that's better?
Totally worth it, especially at that price.
1.5TB Internal for $165 or 3TB External for $199
Hard drivers are really overpriced right now.
yeah but i need one so
I'd probably go with the best size:price one.
Thanks, just bought it.
Try the Razor Deathadder. Tons of pro gamers (CS/CS:S) use it, so it is worth a try. If you can afford it, you should try the Steelseries Xai. It has a great driver and is really comfortable. The sensor (laser) requires cleaning though.
If you are on a budget, try the Steelseries Kinzu. It is 7% smaller then the Xai. (Don't buy it if you have a normal to large hand)
You can also buy the MX518 or the upgraded version G400. That mouse is proven to be one of the best gaming mice ever created. They are both a bit heavy though. (I prefer lightweight mouse)
So:
Cheap? - Steelseries Kinzu
Steelseries fan? - Steelseries Xai
Good sensor and Razor? - Deathadder
Logitech pro ass build quality for the real shit? - MX518/G400
Hipster? - Steelseries Sensei (Upgraded version of Xai REALLY expensive)
Lightweight? - Steelseries Kinzu v2 Pro Edition
I have a Thermaltake Black mouse, its got 4 buttons (wish it had 5), a braided cable and an on-the-fly DPI switcher which is pretty convenient.
It's also really big, which is good because i have long fingers.
On-the-fly switches bring out my inner OCD and I can't stop pressing them over and over.
I'm thinking of getting a new HDD for my laptop.from speccy. It's got 18.9 gb left, and I want some more space. Any recomendations?Code:117GB Western Digital WDC WD1200VE-22KWT0 ATA Device (PATA) 47 °C
So I am a little confused on my RAM. I bought this and the speccy says 8.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28.) Should it not say 1600 MHz?
it's running at the correct speed but your timings are off, you can set them correctly in your bios
Ok so I'm a little confused on the concept of a home media center. I have an old computer (2003 I think) that I want to put media on and stream from another computer over my home network. My internet connection speed doesn't matter at all in this, right? My router can do up to 125 mbps (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16833162173), so is that the rate at which the media should stream?
My files are copying at 0/bytes a second. Nothing explains this, trying to copy from desktop to folder
hi i need a printer/scanner/copier thing with wifi that can print things when i ask it to
$100-300 i dont care i just want it to work
Edited:
it would also be nice if it could print in black and white without yellow ink
No, your internet connection does not matter, unless you are streaming content from it like YouTube.
Do research on the toner value first, pages printed per dollar - pick based on that. You're most likely going to be looking at a laser printer.
Arctic Silver 5 or Arctic cooling MX-2?
AS5 or MX4
