I reformatted and the issue persists, it even has artifact lines in the BIOS, I do believe the GPU has had it, R.I.P 6870, for now atleast, I'm going to bake it once I remove the heatsink and see how that goes, I've successfully baked my old laptop's GPU a while ago and it worked.
If baking it does fix it (temporarily or permanently), would pairing it with the 6850 do any damage to the 6850 if the 6870 was to start artifacting again (assuming baking it works)?

When I do them, I try to do as many as I can, but you'll be fine if you have a minimum of three. Corners would be great.

They go in the bottom of the motherboard, there should be a bunch of pins sticking up with tiny words around the outside that tell you where power led, hdd led, power switch and reset switch connectors go.

Yes, where the white pins are at is where they need to be plugged in, your motherboard manual will give you a bigger picture of it and where various connectors go if you can't read it directly on the board. As for the second picture, that cable you're holding is PCI-e power which plugs into your video card. What you need to plug into the motherboard there should be an 8 pin connector that is split into 4+4 (2 separate heads each with 4 pins)

It's also used for most IDE/PATA drives (SATA drives have their own power connector), so most PSUs have a few more than most people actually need, because some people still have those older hard drives.

Here's a method on how to do things for your computer:
Find every separate part, each one will need both POWER and DATA
Hard drive? Does it have power and data? Next.
Optical Drive? Same thing.
Video Card? Depends, is it fancy? Lower end cards can get their power from the PCI socket, but higher end ones need PCI-E power plugs. If your card needs it, the plug(s) will be right on the right edge, easily visible.
I have yet to ever use a molex plug, but there are uses for them. Not everything on the power supply will plug into something, but every part on the computer will plug into the power supply (besides RAM, and to a lesser extent, the CPUIt has a separate power port on the motherboard).

Theres 4 in all, 2 with a 2 pin side one that isnt connected (with only one saying "pci-e"), and 2 with just 6 pins, no side thing, again, only one with pci-e

If anyone cares, I baked the 6870 and it's working perfectly, we'll see how it goes, glad I got the 6850 so I can now crossfire and have a backup if something happens, I was actually thinking of getting a 7770 for some reason, even with it's worse performance.

god damn it, which dell IPS monitor is the best for gaming?
I'd usually buy the most expensive one but I don't need graphic designers one and the response times are horrible for "real IPS".
So, should I get the U2410 or the U2412M?

Okay, so my computer's internet is connected to a server which connects to my router. It uses Windows 2003, and bridges the connections.
The main problem is the internet drops to my computer from the server if I livestream or download loads of crap at once. Or even if I browse a FP thread with loads of images *hint, hint*.
How can I stop my home server from cutting my internet when I request loads of files? I've not had this issue with a Linux distro on the machine, but I require having Windows on it.

Modmics are great. Probably your best choice that isn't a desk mic.

So on my laptop, I created an account for my brother. It's been acting really weirdly though. He said it BSODed on him when he was trying to play WoW and when he lost wifi before and and I tried bringing up the network and sharing center, it gave me a blank white screen. Then when I tried rebooting, it hung at logging off. So I held the power button and rebooted. Later WoW crashed with a memory exception. I tried running Memtest86+ overnight. There was one fail on the fourth test (I stopped it while it was on 7). Seeing as it was only a single fail, does it mean my RAM's bad? I haven't had any issues when I've been using it for gaming on my own account.

Hey guys. Got a quick question about a new HSF for my AMD Phenom II x4 955BE. It currently runs relatively hot for the critical temps it has, idling around the high 30's/ 40's and under load sitting in the low 50's or higher (I keep HWMonitor running in the background, but I've only really run BF3 with it which maxed at around 53c).
Is it worth buying a after market cooler do you think? And if so, would something like the Coolermaster TX3 be a decent budget option? I've checked out reviews for it on a few websites, it looks quite promising. Customer reviews for it on various websites seem quite positive as well. Or can you think of something else under £30, or less if shipping isn't free (I really don't have much money right now) that would fit in a Antec 300.
