I responded immediately to freeman's question (which was identical to yours) it was the last post on the page though

Can you use your gpu control panel to remove capped frame rates from games? I just thought about it when I was playing a game that was locked at 30 and I'm wondering if it'll work or not.
I'd try it for myself but I'm not able to at the moment.
no, but there might be other ways around it
Which game and I can tell you.
But no, GPU control panels can't do that, not yet alteast.
thirdpart software like Dxtory can limit the FPS for you.
Yeah shit I missed that. The Samson Go Mic seems really good, but springing another $15 for a pop filter makes the price crazy steep to get the best quality in the -10 dB setting.
Hmm, toss up between the two, I suppose.
If it is L.A. Noire, then you might be able to get some patches for it. Just google. I do not own the game so I can not help more about that.
LA noire is coded to do 30fps. I'd be amazingly surprised if you manage to get it to run at 60.
It's capped at 30 because the faces are at 30 frames, if I'm not mistaken.
What's the diffrence between normal AA, CSAA and MSAA?
The way it's calculated and done.
Wich one is the best?
CSAA in most cases.
MSAA is the best looking and most demanding, CSAA is probably the best choice for good performance with good quality.
Which is why I said CSAA, I like MSAA as well, but CSAA is best IMO for general users.
In short, use MSAA if you can handle it, otherwise CSAA.
MSAA looks blurred to me so I prefer CSAA, the extra performance isn't bad either
well best is pretty much personal preference
True.
AA is just a general term for rendering methods to reduce jagged edges.
SSAA is rendering high resolution and then downscaling
MSAA is doing a ztest and finding areas of geometry and then sampling areas within that pixel and then blending them
CSAA is the same except it runs more coverage samples not color samples.
You guys think that there's any market for Socket 478 CPU's?
My trash can is a good market.
If you're willing to pay shipping.
I have $22, what's the best mic I can get for just general communication in games?
A couple of questions
1. If I were to place DDR3 ram with DDR2 would they work together?
2. I'm currently using this PSU http://microdream.co.uk/acer-aspire-...er-supply.html (200mm x 91mm x 52mm)
Are there any other similarly shaped PSUs around 400-500W? I have quite a small case and I'm not sure if one of those cubic shaped PSUs would fit.
1. No.
2. I'm not sure but there's this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/450w-...-quiet-fan-sfx however it may not fit either given the dimensions: 125 x 63.5 x 100 mm (WxHxD)
How about this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/EZCool-Power.../dp/B0056G8L4K (W 84 x H 62 x D 175mm)
Dimensions are similar but now I'm worried if it'll line up with the screw holes.
What's a good graphics card to upgrade from a HD6850? My CPU is a Phenom II 955.
IED.
Edited:
Not worth upgrading all that much. Probably worth waiting for Ivy Bridge.
What budget anyway?
I'd upgrade your motherboard/processor (preferably ivy bridge) then drop in another 6850, no point in letting the 6850 go to waste, still a perfectly capable card by itself and two of them is arguably the best price:performance you can get at the minute.
What could be the cause when I've been running BF3 on the same settings and it hadn't lagged before, but these days sometimes after playing a while the FPS drops every once in a while which is bad.
And sometimes an FPS drop every few seconds, rarely that though server change usually helps. But zooming in with sniper scope, or turning fast with mouse can make FPS drop a little unlike before.
Maybe dust inside pc or?
Okay, kind of annoying problem here:
Whenever I start a skype call, a game, or plug in an USB device, Windows will automatically set my Winamp volume to 10%.
Any way to avoid that?
Did you disable the voice volume dim in windows?
Uh...
I can't find this option in the sound settings. Could you give me a hint?
Right click the speaker icon.
Click recording devices.
In the communications tab tick "Do nothing".
okay, cool that worked.
Thanks, both of you. <3

what?
Hey, I'm looking for an automated way to back up, or copy, a select folder to an external HDD. (I wish to have my Dropbox folder also sync to my external HDD and a USB stick so I have it in multiple places at once.) What is the simplest way to do this?
What kind of RAM should I buy for an Acer Aspire 5560-Sb256 model laptop? I need the extra memory and price isn't that big of an issue.
What happened to NoteSlate?
