My only important ex was a nerde girl. LIke the kind I'd argue with over which Zelda art direction was better. (PS it's windwaker or the original) We dated for like 10 months then started fighting over stupid shit and broke up.
The girl I'm dating now really doesn't share much in common with me. She like hates video games but she loves watching stupid movies which I can totally dig, it's a new view on life. Don't always date within wha you would consider your circle.

And there are metalhead girls in my school and I probably would have moved on to them but they think Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Bullet for my Valentine and all that gay shit is the best and have never even heard of most of the stuff I listen to beyond Children of Bodom, Lamb of God and MAYBE Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth. And then if they listened to most of the stuff I like they would probably say "lol this sucks listen to avenged sevenfold". You have no idea how much elitism metalcore fans spout about their music being so "underground" and awesome. Then again death/black metal guys like me aren't a whole lot better, the only difference is a lot of our music actually is underground.

I was being a bit hyperbolic
it's more likely that they simply have a tight knit group of friends, and it can be awkward to try and get some chemistry going (she might even have some friends that regret being friendzoned)

The ones at my school are actually pretty hot. But then again they like shitty metal that you can barely even call metal. If there were any into the kind of metal I'd like they'd probably be pretty nasty looking. But I can always hope there's a really hot girl out there who loves black metal as much as I do.

The latter is irrelevant at the moment then. What's also important is that she notices you before you even approach her.
Basically when you're talking to her, you're not really talking to *her*, you're conversing with the whole group. It can even help keep the conversation moving.
it's not really as easy as it sounds though, I get kind of nervous when I overthink stuff like this. It's best to just be impulsive

Dear Taep, learn to be accepting of other people. Stop being so judgemental.
Odds are that girls won't like airsoft, and you won't like their music. You need to focus on what you can find in common as opposed to what keeps you apart.
Also, odds are that most people who like these generic metal bands haven't been introduced to the real thing, their interest is superficial, or they simply don't know where to look. How many people come to this forum with no knowledge of airsoft but want to learn? Lots.
You will miss 100% of the shots you don't take so stop being stupid.
Lets put it this way:
Currently you have no girlfriend and no friends who are girls.
Option A: You talk to a few girls and get rejected by them.
Results: You have no girlfriend and no friends who are girls. At the least you start to learn how to talk to girls.
Option B: You keep doing what you're currently doing, nothing.
Results: You have no girlfriend and no friends who are girls.
Option C: You talk to a few girls and make friends with at least one.
Results: You have no girlfriend, but you are now friends with a girl, she'll be able to give you advice and you can meet other girls through her.
Option D: You talk to a few girls and wind up with a girlfriend.
Results: You win. It probably won't be perfect but it doesn't matter, people aren't perfect.
Clearly, only two of these options keep your situation the same, none of these situations make it any worse on you, and half of them improve your situation vastly. As I said above, maybe you need to introduce some of these ladies to what you like, and maybe they'll learn to like it to. Also, complaining on this forum will not assist you in any manner. It doesn't make you feel better and it won't get you a girlfriend.

That's going to be quite difficult. Let's say I find a girl who is intelligent. Chances are we're not going to like the same classes. I hear way more people talking about how they find math and the sciences so easy and hate social studies and English. I love social studies and English but hate math and science. So that's one thing I could find in common with a girl but will probably have a difficult time with until college when I actually exclusively get to study history and only history.
Chances are we probably won't like the same music, that's a given and you already mentioned it. Same thing with hobbies. Video games and airsoft aren't exactly the most appealing things to females. So I don't know how I could find anything in common with a girl.

If you haven't noticed, girls like to talk, they're pretty good at telling you things they like.
Trust me, its not as hard or terrifying as it sounds. You have to remember that ladies are people too, don't put them on a pedestal, they've got pros/cons/interests/dislikes like you and I.
You mentioned that the one girl you find an interest in seems to have potentially better taste in music than other people, so next time you see her wearing a metal shirt, just walk by and say that she has a cool shirt.
Its simple, don't expect some amazing conversation to pop up, although it may, but at the very least she will be instantly aware of your existence and your interest in metal.

There is nothing wrong with hanging out in a bro's basement playing video games and chatting for a few hours. Seriously, most of my hangouts with friends involve board games/Mario Party. You'd be surprised how intense those experiences can get.

No you interpreted what I was saying wrong. I DON'T like any of the girls in my school who like metal, simply because they seem like massive posers who will probably move on to Skrillex in a few months anyway. The girl I have an interest in is not into metal at all, at least as far as I know. She doesn't look like the kind of girl who would have an interest in metal.

Oh, I see. Well this is an even better scenario, you like someone who doesn't give you a reason to hate them based on your high school society. Point being, find any way to talk to her as often as possible. You have literally nothing to lose. If she posts something on Facebook that's interesting, comment on it. That starts conversations.
Internet conversations often lead to many real conversations. All of a sudden its not too weird that you're saying hello in the hallways, and by talking on facebook, her other friends can see it and join in too. Trust me, social networking is a handy tool.
Also, most conversations center around experiences moreso than hobbies and interests.
Take my situation for example, I took the lady I liked airsofting which was fun but kinda meh. However, on the 40 minute car ride there and back we had wonderful conversations the entire time, about random miscellaneous topics. That's how things normally work out.

When the next semester starts on Tuesday I guess I'll probably try to start talking to her if I have any classes with her. If she's not in any of my classes I'll forget about her and look for an interesting girl in one of my classes. And if that fails I don't know what I'll do.
