Very possible, All I want is for them to to be able to turn 360 degrees anyways
If their lead programmer has his way the source code will be released alongside the mod anyway, making it possible

Why would you do something as ass backwards as that when you can just change the legs on the fucking turret

Seriously why are you complaining about something so fucking insignifigant

It's even fucking more realistic I can't understand your logic

You can almost taste the speculation

How do you know they didn't, hm, fucking code in rotation?

Even if they don't rotate at least they wouldn't be as annoying as fuck as they were in Half-Life.

EDIT: Why is this being rated dumb? you can easily see the pivot joint thing on the sentry.

Who said anything about it using the HL2 AI or falling over easily?
They just stole the leg configuration to make it fall over less and changed the sensor array to look like the combine turret. (Which I'll admit is stupid)
Look at the top section. It's nearly the same as the old one with largely just details changed.
    Also, I suspect that
wasn't directional and was impossible to aim and stand upright.
means that we'll be able to sneak up directly behind the new ones, pick them up and then carry them around as a portable minigun. This may not be canon, but it sure is fun.

Our zombies' animation set mostly uses HL2 animations. They worked much better than the custom ones we made ourselves

That is not true. The walk animation of zombies in the original Half-Life is significantly faster in terms of speed than its HL2 counterparts, making the HL1 zombie a much more immediate threat to the player. And besides, the sight of a zombie with its long, outstretched tendril-like fingers very briskly striding their way towards you is a much spookier sight than a knock-kneed, hunched over sissy clumsily hobbling its way in your direction.

I hope the BMS team is doing their homework because HL1 zombies also do far more damage with their swipes than their HL2 cousins.

In-universe, HL2 zombies are around twenty years older, hence making them feeble and crotchety old men, grumbling at those young and faster whipper-snappers foolishly leaping around in the air and across roofs at such. That's why they're so slow now. They also easily break in half at the waist due to their trick hip.

Uh that doesn't make any sense? Why would a headcrab attack 20 years later be different than one that happened 20 years ago?

Valve just wanted to make the zombies go from just an alien abomination to horrific display of torture and pain. Plus it makes you associate the suffering with the Combine, since in Ravenholm and City 17, Zombies are their doing. It makes you resent them more.

At least I hoped surprises such as Black Mesa including the retcons induced by HL2, but this won't be the case (no chases between you and Barney in the vents to get the first to Kleiner's lab, etc...).

The sooner they release it, the sooner other teams will do a redux version including all these changes mentioned above.

Please try to remember that even though the current build is already a bit off from the "original" Half-Life, it is still a remake, not a redux. And while some of the ideas you've mentioned would actually be pretty neat (except the perverted bits, we have porn for a reason), they're not for Black Mesa.

Alright, alright, hold on. An entire subforum hates your ass for a myriad of reasons and you think it's our fault that things are this way? I've tried to be lenient toward you and I'm sure quite a few of the regulars of this thread have been as well. So, let's see why I should regret this (mods, forgive me, it's 3:30am and I've had a rough week.):

Firstly, you think everything in this thread has been pointless up to and beyond this point. This is because we're talking about an unreleased mod, nay, THE unreleased mod. Not to mention said mod updates on a less-than-yearly basis. These updates aren't major, either. I believe the last update of this magnitude happened sometime in 2010.

Next, Saying it's good or it's bad. What the hell else are we supposed to do? Sit around here talking about Ramminator's average sleep cycle?

And the last part, oh boy. "thinking before posting". This implies Thinking before posting, and more importantly, it implies thinking. Your ban history shows no traces of either.

Now, before you leave on your ~deep~ and ~emotional~ trip back to whence you came, please remember that you have single-handedly proven yourself both right and wrong at the same damn time in the same damn post.

Now, to try pull this train back on its rails, the headcrabs in both games could have different growth patterns depending on the health of the victim. The scientists in HL1 were well-fed, didn't walk far day to day and lived in decent housing. Whereas HL2 citizens "lived" in ramshackle shelters, didn't eat much and probably walked cross-country. This would explain why HL1 zombies have longer claws (more calcium to grow them with), better posture (access to seats) and moved faster/had more naturally bent legs (weren't constantly overworked).

Our zombies make noises like Half-Life 2's, but they sound a lot more, well, juicy. Imagine someone the noise of someone drowning angrily in their own blood while wearing a gasmask. Kind of like that.
