How do you know they didn't, hm, fucking code in rotation?
Even if they don't rotate at least they wouldn't be as annoying as fuck as they were in Half-Life.
EDIT: Why is this being rated dumb? you can easily see the pivot joint thing on the sentry.
I want them bolted to the ground. Anything else about them, I don't care about.
Who said anything about it using the HL2 AI or falling over easily?
They just stole the leg configuration to make it fall over less and changed the sensor array to look like the combine turret. (Which I'll admit is stupid)
Look at the top section. It's nearly the same as the old one with largely just details changed.
Also, I suspect that
means that we'll be able to sneak up directly behind the new ones, pick them up and then carry them around as a portable minigun. This may not be canon, but it sure is fun.
From Raminator (again).
HL2 turrets, HL2 headcrab zombies... This is turning into BlackMesalf-Life 2...
Zombies are the same in half-life 1 and 2.I mean that it's a headcrab doing it thing. No difference between hl1 zombie and hl2 zombies.
I hope the BMS team is doing their homework because HL1 zombies also do far more damage with their swipes than their HL2 cousins.
In-universe, HL2 zombies are around twenty years older, hence making them feeble and crotchety old men, grumbling at those young and faster whipper-snappers foolishly leaping around in the air and across roofs at such. That's why they're so slow now. They also easily break in half at the waist due to their trick hip.
Valve just wanted to make the zombies go from just an alien abomination to horrific display of torture and pain. Plus it makes you associate the suffering with the Combine, since in Ravenholm and City 17, Zombies are their doing. It makes you resent them more.
Quick question, will this game ever be released?
One of the things that made me sad is knew when it appeared the answer of the question that Hazard Course wouldnt be on BMS. I expected a total remake in Source, with the PS2 entrance.
Someone knows if the DEVs talked about how the guards and the scientists will act agaisnt the enemies?
I hope they really developed Black Mesa Inbound to the point we can go to the cafeteria, buy a coffee or a beer, flirt with scientists chicks (or Barney girls), play flipper and mess with other experiments.
That is my main interest in the mod : see Black Mesa "alive". The rest is just... Visual upgrade...
At least I hoped surprises such as Black Mesa including the retcons induced by HL2, but this won't be the case (no chases between you and Barney in the vents to get the first to Kleiner's lab, etc...).
The sooner they release it, the sooner other teams will do a redux version including all these changes mentioned above.
Come on, all your discussions are entirely pointless since 3 versions of this topic, except posting updates and saying "woah, it's good" or "woah, it's bad", I'm just thinking before posting, on the contrary of you.
Allright, I'm moving, there are more interesting people elsewhere. Bye, you disappointed me.
Firstly, you think everything in this thread has been pointless up to and beyond this point. This is because we're talking about an unreleased mod, nay, THE unreleased mod. Not to mention said mod updates on a less-than-yearly basis. These updates aren't major, either. I believe the last update of this magnitude happened sometime in 2010.
Next, Saying it's good or it's bad. What the hell else are we supposed to do? Sit around here talking about Ramminator's average sleep cycle?
And the last part, oh boy. "thinking before posting". This implies Thinking before posting, and more importantly, it implies thinking. Your ban history shows no traces of either.
Now, before you leave on your ~deep~ and ~emotional~ trip back to whence you came, please remember that you have single-handedly proven yourself both right and wrong at the same damn time in the same damn post.
Now, to try pull this train back on its rails, the headcrabs in both games could have different growth patterns depending on the health of the victim. The scientists in HL1 were well-fed, didn't walk far day to day and lived in decent housing. Whereas HL2 citizens "lived" in ramshackle shelters, didn't eat much and probably walked cross-country. This would explain why HL1 zombies have longer claws (more calcium to grow them with), better posture (access to seats) and moved faster/had more naturally bent legs (weren't constantly overworked).
-snip- I'm retarded
probably meant to post it in a CS:GO thread
We got rid of sarevokh again. This one was hard.
We must make better shields. Quick! get working. We must finish it before he comes back.
