I like to think that the headcrab doesn't have full control over the host body. So that poor bastard is using whatever willpower he has left in a desperate attempt to either get the crab off or just kill himself and end the nightmare.

When you get the texture, could you post it on here as an image file? I'm bad at getting these files out of things and I want it because of reasons :/
    Here ya go:

Everyone is free to download this and do whatever the fuck they want.

If BM's textures and models are free to use by mappers then imagine how many good textures have been contributed. Now we don't need to see maps being made that use some of the same old HL2 textures, and these textures look pretty damned good.

Please let the devs of these realize the potential time saved and possibly even better qaulity in using black mesa models and textures.
You do know how long those devs have been working on their projects, right? It would be insulting if someone told you to scrap all the materials you've already created just to use the things made by another modding team. The projects are also essentially acting as their own work portfolios.

I'd love to learn mapping just to do DM maps once BM:DM is released. The assets look fun to use and would make for some interesting maps. (Imagine dynamic skyboxes like the one in the cliff part of surface tension ! Fighters flying overhead and bombing a building in the distance !)

Your missing my point, I mean if they are still missing any models or textures that Bm has made, they could use them and it could save time to work on bug fixes and touch ups.

Of course, but bad mappers only using BM's textures aren't a good reason not to let the good mappers have access to the assets.

That would still be an interesting way to use the assets, I think. I wonder if there are skybox models for the apache and osprey, though.

Yes on both the apache and osprey, and the harrier as well. The airbattle seen in faf is also included as a single model.

I still haven't finished the mod, but it's great so far. What is the reason for Black Mesa using all these old computers and equipment though? I can't remember if that is explained in Half-life 1 or not.

Half-Life takes place anywhere from 2000 to 2009.
(I don't think we really know for sure.)

I'd say it takes place in 2006 though.
Most of the computers in Black Mesa are older ones that still use CRT monitors.
But in the newer, more advanced areas of Black Mesa (like that one place in Questionable Ethics), they use what would have been cutting edge for that time. (LCD monitors, newer computers and servers, etc...)

The problem with the newer computers in the game though is that those computers are pretty much what we have today; which I guess doesn't make much sense really.

Don't remember where I got this from but I think much of Black Mesa is an old military installation/ICBM launch facility. I imagine a bit of everything in the facility such as the silos, the rail infrastructure, storage areas and probably much of the computer equipment is from those days.

Also it kind of kills the mood of everything for me and just starts to make everything seem silly to know that those 'portal reading' monitors (lol) at the Lambda Supply Depot are actually readings from the Large Hadron Collider which the BM devs just ripped straight from CERN.
Suddenly all of these 'genius scientists' seem to have no idea the fuck they're looking at or what they're talking about. VV

I've always found it funny that the whole black mesa event happened to begin with. I mean, Lambda labs had a working teleporter that they used regularly, don't you think when they caught word of sector c's tests, the would have been like: "Hey don't fuck around with that xen crystal stuff. Shits volatile yo."
