Finally! Thank you. Also, reposting the email about this I got from the main programmer on the team a few pages back.

I don't have sheet music, but I can play it. I self-taught myself it, though just as a warning, most youtube tutorials that people will undoubtedly check only contain part of the song.
So I just downloaded this Fallback mod and extracted it to C:\STEAM\steamapps\sourcemods.
Please excuse my lack of computer skills but, what now?
Restart Steam, it should be on your games list when you restart
Post #567
Much appreciated, good sir.
edited: Well, actually, it didn't quite work. Restarted Steam multiple times now and I still can't see it in my games list.
How did you extract it to your sourcemods folder?
I used the big "extract" button on winrar to extract it to mentioned location.
edited: I suspect my lack of Half Life 2 Episode 2 is the problem.
So, in your sourcemods folder you have a "blackmesafallback" folder with the mod contents ("cfg", "materials", "models", etc) inside?
Yes. It's all there.
I just downloaded it myself, and it's running fine for me. Maybe you should just delete the blackmesafallback folder, and try again.
I'll try that, but I'm guessing you have Ep. 2 unlike me. Do you think that could be the issue?
It's on the EP2 engine, so that might be it. Weren't some of the other Source games were moved up to its engine, though?
Could be. I do have TF2, Portal, HL:DM and HL: Lost Coast if that helps.
yes
you need episode 2 installed to run this mod
my episode 2 wasn't installed and it didn't let me start the mod
Those don't run on the Episode 2 engine, i think
They all (minus Lost Coast and Half-Life: Source + HL: Source´s deathmatch) run on OB-source (more accurately on Source 2009, since OB-source got sliced in to half: 2007 and 2009.)
Alright, thanks for the help. Sorry for shitting on the page with my problem though.
PS
Black Mesa PR in a nutshell
"Hey, BMS Team, can we get some communication as to how the mod is going?"
"Your mother."
"No, really, we haven't heard anything substantial from you in a while."
"Your mother."
"God, stop being such a bitch."
"STFU and stop making fun of me, asshole!"
pretty much
And then they gave us the silent treatment because they couldn't act like adults when a bunch of people on the internet were assholes.
Seriously, certain people on the internet are always going to be assholes, get the fuck over it.
i know its late as fuck but i just thought id show/remind you guys of some really good texture work done on a mod that will never be released

The recent semi-success/semi-failure of the RLD of HL CFC provided me with an explanation on why my first event failed so much.
Here is my second and final offensive, there won't be others, this is IMHO the ultimate thing to do if you want for "people" to change and evolve for the better :
Love someone, and he will quickly soon in his own obvious contentment.
Hate someone, and he will have a good reason to live, fight and to die for.
Whatever are your feelings towards someone, they'll always be pleased as long as we talk about them.
But let them fall into the oblivion of the unconsciousness, and they'll quickly panic and do whatever they can to come back in the "most beloved/hated mod's of all time".
Facepunch needs to steal the current finished mod content and make the rest ourselves.
We could do so much better.
what the fuck are you doing
I'm a bit confused as well
someone had a little too much crack.
I said exactly this and it was apparently optimistic
Guess Facepunch is sorta bipolar with these kinda things
And now it's getting agrees.
It's sad.
Well now the tone we've taken on the page has changed since you posted it, hasn't it

Very few. Given the amount of content we've created, we really don't need to use much of the stock HL2 resources.mankyman6 posted:
Yes. Security guards aren't just armed with Glocks, you'll also see them with .357s and shotguns. If they get the drop on a grunt, they can often come out ahead.Kaweebo posted:

they made a new Dev group back in January
Look at those SDK hours
heck 5 of them are in the SDK at the time of this post.
because the fan community is shit, that's why they don't bother with it most of the time
Thats like the biggest retarded thing i have seen in a while
This looks a bit like progress.
