The same way the cinematic destruction on EP2 is done. Pre-calculated and animated destruction that allows for more detail and realism.

And it's really fast too.
I'll be honest, I think this mod is going to be pretty kickass when(ever) it comes out. Even for all the legitimate flaws it might have, it still looks to be better than just about every other Half-Life 2 mod currently out there.
Personally it just makes me want to replay Half Life again.
I won't lie to you, none of these leaks and media releases made me more excited. I'm at point with this mod that I'm just waiting for the release.
Ram organized all his Q&A regarding the leak into one thread

Nothing new, its just all in one spot.

here is some new Q&A to go with that

They're basing their rocket off the Titan 1 launching system, where they raise it out of the ground before launching
![]()
Wait a minute did they claim they were going to up a remastered clip of the leaked video in 1-3 MONTHS!!! guess release still isnt coming.
Well they said their release scheduled hasn't changed for the mod, so that was always their plan.
I thought that was just a community member speculating about the video
It's more likely it would be a launch video to the mod, though that's also speculation
They said they ere considering making that a video for a week before launch but never decided.
or maybe it is coming, in 1-3 months
i bet they'll release it on December 21st, or maybe sooner
and it'll rain gumdrops from the sky, and puppies will hug kittens as we all dance in the town square
The decision of the rails not being electrified is a bad idea, no matter they say. Although the idea of raise the rocket to the surface sounds interesting.
didn't the rocket always rise to the surface
Black Mesa Source is for casuals
Nah, it launched from underground.
No, it was just very slow going up. It definitely launched from underground.
"Alien Grunt is too OP, nerf it pls"
The rails were electrified for avoid rushing and make the gameplay harder if you decide to do not take the tram (forcing you to jump edge to edge).
No, it launched slowly from underground
And even if it did raise first, the point of this one is that there is a puzzle on the previous level to raise it yourself.
So wait, they wanted to force us to stay with the tram by taking away the edges of the rails that players could previously walk on in HL1, but then they go and make the rails themselves not electrical and damaging? Why'd they do that? What reason would people have to not just pass the tram and walk on the rails?
Well, they tried to make riding the tram more interesting.
idk why they originally said you can't get off the tram, because you can, and afterwards they said you can, though there are occasional times you need to stay on it, like the transitions i believe (like HL1)
I've lost the little tram thing a few times, kinda funny.
Black Mesa doesn't play the same as the Original Half Life, I doubt these guys are just being fast and loose with the balance of the game. They've been working on it for 8 years.
Well, i remember the human soldiers having way too much health. It probably would have been to easy if they had a human amount. But since this game has updated their ai to make them better and less reliant on being tanky...
What happens to the alien grunt? Are they smarter? Do they have less health?
I was playing Doom 3 and I think the Alien Grunt and Commando look a lot alike.
Not like it means anything, I just thought there was a similarity between the two.
I still can't get over the fact that the grunt's arms are rustic phalli.
They both look like alien soldiers of Nazi Germany
So apparently the Gluon does something special to enemies with the gibbing, instead of just gibbing peopleJamesKane posted:
Should be interesting to see.
Maybe they're gibs that glow blue.

Also, the Tram's 'Dead Man Switch' can be turned off in the game options menu.
So you will beable to have the tram go full speed and jump off if you feel like it.
I would laugh my ass off if they kept this glitch in the mod
I actually had it happen for the first time yesterday when I was watching a friend play HL for the first time.
What a polite man, saying hello even in a situation where he's going to die.
Also, info about the crossbow:
Woops, didn't see that it was posted aboveRaminator posted:
And it's an actual 3D scope like insurgency - not just a zoom-in like other games have.
What does that mean?
I think it means that the image on the scope is still zoomed in, even when you're not looking through it.

what do the grunts look like when they have a their claw thingy shoved up a hive's ass?
I think the alien grunt's don't realy look very half life. They look like they belong to another game... probably made by Epic or Id. It's just the fact that they are made to look "badass" . Valve never realy makes anything look "badass". (not to say that their stuff doesn't look cool)
I have to say, I always felt the same way.
The AGrunts just felt so weird and out of place the first time I saw them in Half-Life. I'm not sure how they will be in BM, but it just felt weird.
In fact, actually thinking about it, compared to everything else, they almost seem like they would fit right into Halo. Hell, maybe some of the covenant took inspiration from the Agrunts.
For those who wanted to see the on a rail gameplay in 1080p, here it is
the video quality is still fucked up so.... it doesn't matter
If you have it on your computer increasing the brightness with WMP actually makes it look a lot better and the colors look more accurate to the screenshots. Someone should apply a brightness change and re-upload that.
I'm not talking out of my ass, if you actually try it you can clearly see it makes it look quite a bit better.
adjusting the contrast makes it more natural.
After re-watching the video, I realized that the enemy grunt voices don't sound threatening at all
It's more like someone's casually yelling (but it's like a fake yelling)
