Because safety.
Because safety.
86mph driving my 4 cylinder 1.3. Would of gone faster but there was a very worrying amount of steering wheel judder. The was fully laden with passengers and mass camping gear. Someone else has maxxed my car out at 105mph.
130/40mph as a passenger (late for the ferry to France)
the fastest I ever went was 180km/h in my brothers pretty freshly jap imported supra, so it was limited to 180km/h.
My E30 hits the rev limiter hard at 235kmh/145mph, I really gotta get an M3 6-speed gearbox. Fastest I've been as a passenger was about 305kmh/190mph in a Gallardo.
Because i'd prefer my head to be stopped by cushiony air, rather than glass and tarmac.

Saw an F40 recently. Best looking car in the world.
You could, y'know, not drive like an idiot and wreck.
Almost all accidents are avoidable if YOU be the responsible one and drive cautiously. There are some occasions you'll get into a little fender bender if you are trying really hard to be safe but that happens -- but high speed death-causing wrecks are generally avoided by having your focus on the road and vehicles around you.
Cars have always been safe -- it's the people that operate them that we should be updating.
It's not even you. It's other people on the roads. Like when I got t-boned from someone who ran a stop sign. Nothing I could've done to prevent that and thankfully no one was in the passenger seat or they would've been seriously injured. I was once almost hit twice within 5 minutes because two cars cut me off so bad I had to slam on the brakes.
Cool thanks for the boxes.
See you later guys. Gonna go build me a box fort.
My dad said he'll buy me a smart car, I said I'll put a Hayabusa engine in it. He's no longer buying me a smart car.
... I didn't even want a smart car.
Wow you're an asshole.
says the fat kid who google searches mustangs and claims to own the exact one he finds.
I'm neither overweight nor a kid and it was a joke between friends, granted it probably shouldn't have been on a forum.
I am an asshole though.
First result in google search, btw.
Don't crash then
I've been the passenger in several accidents, shit hurts.
My car doesn't have airbags so I'm always ALERT.
Yes, I'd like you to say that when someone runs a red light, or a drunk crosses the road.
Shit happens, it's better to be prepared than to suffer later on.
Hey, guys, what's the best way to remove what-I-think-are-etched water spots in the paint? I've already googled around and I have an idea on what to do, but I figured I'd ask you folks before I go out and buy shit.
You tried washing it i assume?
In the shade?
With wax?
Yup, tried washing it multiple times. Also, vinegar did jackshit.
Oh, but not with wax though.
I've been in an accident before
Me too!
That explains the brain damage.
head trauma, real stuff son, don't laugh about that.
relearning to talk/walk/use fork and stuff is hard
"BatBat Mobile"

Had my friends brother worn a seatbelt he would still be alive today, someone ran a redlight and he tboned them, and was ejected from the vehicle.
This, but apex seals...
Everytime I see a KIA I think of Gary Busey, thanks to this commercial.
It pleases me that you will never drive a classic car
My mom has been driving for about 25 years and hasn't caused a single crash, she has been crashed into 3 times though. My dad raced to beat a yellow light and was ran into by a lady, he has also had more speeding and stunting tickets from his highschool years than anyone I know. He just about got hit, he was at a light with his friend in his '68 shortbox Chevy and when it turned green he decided to wait a little longer, long enough for his friend to ask him why the wait then right in front of them a car screams through the intersection that would have killed him if he had not waited. Scary stuff man
On another note when we went into get shocks for my truck today we decided to go down a way we never go and driving down I see a guy with a '78 black Stepside Ram sitting in his yard and I flip a shit. If I could get my hands on that ram I would have every single part I ever wanted for my truck, or even I could convert that stepside into a sick fleetside and drive that.
I
Flipped
A
Shit
Going to see if I can contact the guy and get it for $500
So my insurance is going to go from ~£900 to £2800 come April, it seems.
Time to play the system.
Currently looking at insurances' on a 2004 (54 plate) 3 door Ford Fiesta 1.2L. Some background information; I'm 18, plan on doing no-more than 4000 miles per year, and I've gone under my dads insurance.
I know you probably get loads of new drivers posting this sort of thing, but this is damn right ridiculous.
Edited:
They even refuse to insure me under my own policy.
I need a funny comeback at BMW's! My collegue is all over me with old shit quotes like these:
"Racing in a Honda is like the Special Olympics
even if you win, you're still a retard"
"Vtec = All the lag of a turbo, but none of the boost :-)"
Edited:
I need more than one
Give a couple of the lower end ones a ring, I've found the online quote things to be highly inaccurate.
Oh, and try Co-OP young driver's insurance, that's my cheapest quote so far for this year. And I'll be ringing them soon to talk the price down.
It's fucking ridiculous though. I'll be 20 with a years no claims when my insurance renewal is up.
I do ~15000 miles a year and drive through midnight weekly - I drive a car that is as far from the typical "Boy racer's shit wagon" as is physically possible.
As far as I am concerned my vehicle has one purpose, To get me from point A to point B safely.
i love how the cheapest premium costs more than most first cars here in the US
fuck your insurance rates for young people
