I found out the tachometer was fried, with a further inspection, I saw that the capacitor on the main board was probably bad, and it had a terribly burnt resistor...
Welp return and find a new one :(

i swear to god
Oh god, Friend's brother is selling his MR2. It's so beautiful. Been completely overhauled with a new engine, high pressure turbo, methanol injection, it's track-ready and I so wish I could afford it but it's $9k (He put over $12k in it though.)
What are good RWD cars from the 90s/80s? I'm looking to spend less than $4k and I've been looking at some AE86s and 240SXs. Miatas are nice but a bit too girly for me.
Miata
man's car, not girly
miata
86
240sx (coupe > hatch, s13/s14)
300zx
Miatas are pretty fucking ga-
I'll stop
So my car needs AT fluid very soon; today it started shifting hard. And today my rpm started rising when I parked it, so I need to get a new CO2 sensor. Add to that $300 for registration since my temp plates expired 2 weeks ago, and insurance for next month ($120). Total cost for all of this? About $620
Worst part? I only have 20 bucks, and I have no job
S13 Hatches are better >:(
S13 coupes are way more badass than hatches.
Miata? Manly? Those are both words that doesn't belong next to eachother![]()
if you haven't driven a miata you can't talk
(was my cousin's drift car before he got his s13)
In my opinion, the miata will always be a girly car, don't need to drive it anyway, I don't like them![]()
By the way the Turtle Wax Headlight restoration kit helped, alot. If anyone needs their headlights restored, I recommend it
a 240sx coupe is my dream car.
it's a shame hatches are so much more common though.
I wish my car didn't go up to 1500 rpm when it's idling, feels bad man
At least you know at what RPM your car idles.. My dash consists of only a few things: Speedometer, Check Oil, Check Engine, BRAKE, and AMP lights.
(And the speedo only goes to 85. But I know the car goes a lot faster then that)
I hate it when someone blares their horn at me when i have only been sitting literally 1 second longer than i needed to be. It makes me want to sit still even longer.
Got them in, they are good
lights off
"Hey, let me take a close up shot of my headlight so you can't tell what the overall look is in contrast with the car."
"And I'll make sure not to include comparison shots... Who even wants comparison shots? Nobody cares about how it looked before."

Yay or Nay? Not spending $4300 though. Gonna see if I can talk my way down to like $3500 or even lower.
I have some what appears to be motor oil, but i'm not entirely sure, on the inside of my hood, and spat onto my air filter box. What is it coming from? I'm guessing the dipstick, i dunno. There is a bit of an oily mess around. It isn't a catastrophic amount. My oil level is near the second dot on my dipstick.
i got a black spot in the lights .. could it be the cheap bulbs i bought ?
licht = light
auto = car
red spot is where the black spot is o_o lol
(its german because i posted this on a german forum but they couldnt answer me)
It's nice, but $4300 is far too steep for a stock single cam KA. If it was SR20 powered I'd say $4000 would be a decent deal, $3500 is alright for it stock since it's silvia nose'd... A bit steep but if it's hella clean that's not a terrible price. Went through the trouble of getting a CF Silvia hood so I'm guessing it's going to be a well done conversion.
So I bought the MR2, paid grand total of 1700 for it, but I'm pretty sure the only issue with the engine is a blown head gasket. If this works out, I may be saving myself about 3k than what I would have paid for it if it ran.
And now is the time for pics in the "Photos of your car(s)"-thread
Unfortunately, I live in an area where cars are really expensive. There's a perfectly clean KA 240SX up here in Victoria right now for $5200.
The cheapest Skyline I've ever seen around here was $6000. Cars are not cheap here. As a benefit, my truck is worth more than it would be elsewhere, but it also means popular cars are very steeply priced.
It's mostly because I live in a very tourist-y areas so not many cars are for sale, which makes nice cars even rarer, thus making the price go up.
As soon as it shows up on the back of a flatbed I'll let fly on the images.
Here's the craigslist posting though.

I just got into a car accident today. I was driving the speed limit on the right lane, then suddenly, a car coming out from a parking lot on the right comes into my lane (without stopping to check both sides) and I was forced to stop quickly. In the heat of the moment, I forgot to horn and thus, the right side of my car was scratched a bit.
The driver of that car blamed me, which pissed me off because it was her fault for getting out into the lane without checking and I had the right of way.
My car is a 2012 Chevy Camaro, so try to imagine my current expression right now.
Oh yeah, I posted this in GMF, but that's because I'm mad right now.
That is a really sweet car. Hope you'll get it running with not too many difficulties
Yeah, if she just pulled out in front of you, then she's to blame. Especially if you tried to stop in time. You have to yield to traffic.
I hope you took pictures and are ready to make a claim with your insurance. It sucks but your insurance should cover getting your paint and body fixed.
This is why if I bought a new car I'd install a DVR and cameras, the rear facing camera would double as a reverse cam. I'd probably use an obd kit to record extra data too.
I took pictures of my damages with my Nintendo 3DS. I forgot to take pictures of their damages, but my mom (who was in the passenger seat) did that for me with her iPhone.
Edited:
I forgot to mention that there were other cars parked that blinded her from seeing me coming. I couldn't see her too, so this is why I had to brake.
next time put on your hazards and open the hood and start looking around
Edited:
Yeah I think once I start riding my motorcycle around I'm gonna invest in a helmet camera to catch shit like this if it happens.
Really really hoping it's just a blown head gasket, that way it's just a $100 fix.
I hope so too mate. MR2s are sick cars and it'd be sweet if you could easily get it road-worthy. I'm hoping this Silvia is not a piece. It looks nice though and the guy says he has receipts dating back to 1990. Only problem is it's slightly out of my price range but I'm sure I can figure something out.
Worst comes to worst, you can try to find a different engine and get it swapped.
So you're 100% sure it's a blown head gasket and not just some symptoms it has that makes it most likely?
On my Golf me and dad thought the head gasket had blown between two cylinders since it wasn't running on those two but it was just the spark plug leads that had been mixed up.
Kinda car related.
I got a new phone and decided to test my mic by recording my brothers music
I'm sure if he's hoping it's a blown head gasket, it means he doesn't know for sure. Judging by his post saying it's coming on a flatbed, it's probaly getting delivered.
