Well first off don't buy an M1100, they're ripe with problems, and as such Redwolf is sold out of all Maruzen shotguns. However, the upgrade is available as an option for any model of M870, so just go to the M870's page and throw on the upgrade option.

Ok so my plan right now is a CYMA CM040 which is supposeldy a aks101 but looks just like a ak74
    http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=4735
    with some hicaps and mids
    and a chicom

    Edited:

Whats the compatibilty of parts ?

    Edited:

Its a VFC clone instead of tm apparently
Yes, the CM.040 is an AKS-74. I don't know why they call it an AKS-101, they are externally identical. I use CYMA midcaps with mine, and they work alright. As far as internals, it is a VFC clone, which means takedown is just like the real thing. It is a very nice replica and I doubt you'll be disappointed- just be aware you will probably need to replace the spring as mine shot 430 stock, and replacing the hop-up bucking will do it good too.

Now, this is just me thinking out loud, and I doubt I'll ever have the dosh to do it. But if I wanted to build an SPR, would I be better off buying the A&K or DBoys, or putting a front-end conversion kit on a Combat Machine with a closed cylinder and whatever else I need?

Does it improve reliability as well? And it still needs to fire under 350. And he does plan to use all 5 BB slots on the shell because he needs them to shoot under 350.

With a G&G bucking I got solid accuracy from mine, able to consistently hit a 12" wide target at 150ft. So I'd say it's not necessary.

    @notrabies
Basically, a fullstock regular Maruzen M870 shoots about 280fps with one bb. Upgraded, it will do about 400 with one BB in warm weather. My upgraded one probably shoots 2-3 at 330-350fps and 8 won't even chrono, but it was cold weather and already suffering in performance.

Reliability on any M870 is very high, as long as you remember to lube it every so often to prevent and fix leaks.
For the record, a maruzen shell can hold up to 10 bb's not 5, the websites just report it as 5 for some reason.
Without an upgrade, a fullstock M870 can only fire about 3 shots at max if I had to guess.

I've really heard mixed arguments about Woodland vs ACU though. But the masses say on a regular/all-around basis, Woodland generally works better than the brighter/lighter ACU. Can anyone confirm this?

I've hated ACU for a while since so many children like to wear it and call themselves marines, but I'm thinking about this logically-- I already have a set of Woodland BDUs, and I'm kind of looking to buy another set. Since I'm going to Taiwan this summer, I'll probably get ERDL for my Taiwanese Army loadout, but for my next set, I'm honestly not sure what to buy.

I'm not getting Flora, unless I see it for cheap in Taiwan. Flecktarn is a possibility, and I'm too poor for Multicam. So I was wondering if I should just get the ERDL and leave it at that, or go ahead and get ACU or another pattern.

erdl is more of a collector item too unless its taiwanese erdl they have
but acu and woodland both have different uses in different terrains
acu can work functionally in woodlands but in order for it to be effective its way different than you'd find woodland being effective
whats your area like. acu dyed tan works really well and looks like a poor mans ucp-d almost.

    Edited:

depends on type of erdl too, lime and brown are made for 2 different environments, the deep jungle, or vietnamese highlands

I know the ERDL I find in Taiwan would be whatever version the Taiwanese Army uses, so it would be this kind of ERDL:

If I can find it though, I'd definitely get a Taiwanese Digital pattern:

Yeah, the first two digital patterns are pretty generic, while the last is super grey, almost ACU-esque. But since they're rare, I'd get them anyway because I'm a Taiwan fanboy

Green gas is just propane with the silicone already mixed in.

Anyone got any reccomendations for a headset?

I'd like ones that are compatible with a MICH helmet, so something along the lines of a comtac replica.

Comtac replicas are the only ones i know of by name but i've seen different styles and brands which would also work but can't find anywhere that actually sells anything.

Don't get that pistol! Unless you're only using it for backyard stuff, its not very good. A friend of mine had it and even with his ridiculous tech skills he couldn't make it very good. While it may be a sweet Samurai Edge, I can verify that its not very good. You'd be much better off with a KJW M9, or saving for the Tokyo Marui Samurai Edge.

Sandpaper or something like that, don't do it sloppy. Clean the dust off with water, let it dry. Coat with paint of your choice, several layers. Beat the shit out of it with the sandpaper again.
    Done!
