Guys, i've taken matters into my own hands and i'm scavenging parts from my MP5(such as the bucking) to fix my SCAR but i hit a road block. See, the original problem i had with my SCAR was that the hop-up nub wasn't extending down far enough, so i tried disengaging the hop-up gears to push the thing down all the way but all the way is too short. We determined that the spring inside the hop-up is keeping it too high but from the looks of it even removing that wouldn't do much. I'm really not sure what to do. Any ideas that DOESN'T require me to buy anything?

Cannibalise the hopup from a similar gun?

What about your M16 hop-up?

Last resort of course, I'd sooner buy a replacement hopup.

Aight, If there's anything else in that price-range you would reccomend keep in mind it needs to be in stock because I need it by this weekend.

I think the CM031 has a plastic receiver (correct me if I'm wrong). The M14s are good from what I've heard, but get the fake wood one.

Why the fake wood one? Personally I like the OD better.

Also, The CM031 description says

This rifle is sturdily constructed with a metal barrel assembly, metal receiver cover, and metal trigger assembly.

It says receiver cover, not the whole receiver.

M14 is not good for CQB. A SOC16 wouldn't be too bad though.

those lower number cyma's aren't nearly as good. You also don't really need more than one high cap imo.

If anyone's seen the Tan D Boys SCAR-H anywhere in stock it'd be helpful, only place that seems to have it is weapon blender but it's expensive there.

Depending on where you are, You could give your local retailers a shot, but otherwise I would say to just have ASGI notify you.

Starting with a gas gun, let alone a pistol, is a pretty poor idea IMO. I'd say he needs a decent AEG rifle to cut his teeth on.

I think both would be very beneficial in a CQB situation (assuming you get the tracer unit)

He's not going to play until I'm of legal age and have moved in with him in 3 years. He just wants a cool gun to shoot around his backyard.

Gas guns require more maintenance, are less user-friendly, and much more expensive to operate. If he just wants something to plink with, get him a CO2 NBB pistol from Wal-Mart, it'll cost maybe $40 and he can deal with CO2 cartridges.

Dropping $200+ on a gun that will only be used for backyard plinking for three years is a bad idea.
