that's what he's saying, so I'm not quite sure about my theory. Haven't had a chance to really do my research on it but I'd think it would be nigh impossible to make a 600-film kinda self-developing exposure at that size, wouldn't it?
I was thinking that's what's so special about it, instant film the size of A3 sheets.

It's instant film, like fp100C - image is taken, chemistry happens as you pull the shot through rollers, dyes transfer the negative to paper to get a positive. Obviously you can't do peel apart like regular instant, so chemistry is spread between rolls of paper and negative. Explained better here:

    It's $75 an exposure, IIRC.

Not happy with em. It was more of a test roll anyway. Posted that crop of this awhile ago,

but other than that nothing I want to post. Awkward self portraits and random crap around the house. Along with my trip I told you about (moved to monday) I also have two shoots planned for the fourth. Hopefully I'll ramp up going out and shooting as spring rolls around.

Been using film a lot more after getting over the initial novelty of having digital.
Using it for mostly candid stuff, quite enjoying it actually.

so a month or so back my friend's dad had a wedding in which I was initially invited to as the photographer for 'a good amount of pay'. Unfortunately no one would stay in contact and I didn't even know what day it was on, let alone WHERE until two days before, but the extended family is so high key that they decided, at that last minute point, to tell me to go and get fitted for a tux from this one place in town, that's like professional fancy tuxes for thousands of dollars. I didn't have that money on hand and they still didn't elude to how much they were even going to give me (knowing they only knew me as "vinny's friend with a camera" it probably wasn't much), and they opted to just say fuck it and ask vinny just borrow a 'professional camera' and shoot for himself.

so, I lent him a camera, and during the wedding he found out several things. One, They hired a 'professional' who had a handful of equipment-

Two, half of the family was carrying around DSLRs, and three, they wanted my friend to be tending to guests and such instead of shooting so they handed my camera off to a girl (20-ish old) who claimed to be a photographer.

I just got word yesterday that nobody's given the family ANY pictures and they can't get a hold of their pro apparently, and the dad wants a whole ton of shit tomorrow. I also found out that my friend never took the pictures off the camera, meaning there's an untouched wedding batch sitting on a memory card somewhere around my office, and today I'm moving a bunch of stuff around already so nothing's where it should be

finally found the right card, got the wedding pictures onto my archive (only 175), and now I have to edit everything

the white balance is solid yellow on everything, all of the pictures are taken at terrible time/iso settings, and somehow the girl managed to turn off autofocus so half of the pictures are blobs

I went through a lot of stress to try and set up for the wedding in the first place only to have it falling through on their end, then had to jump through hoops to get the equipment to my friend at the last minute, and now, after not being represented by the one person that I trusted to represent me, I'm left to present the pictures myself in the end. I don't blame my friend, rather just a crapton of bad coordination causing a situation that I'm ultimately left to fix on my free time, with little to even show to the family.

That's awful, sorry man. That's one of the reasons wedding photography scares me, it's the most important day of some people's lives and it's easy to mess up. Those white balances are awful, if you need help send some pictures my way, my email is at528@nau.educe I'm good at white balance with jpgs

my camera arrived on wednesday and i've been spending the past few days messing about and learning the basics, photography is surprisingly complex but its really interesting

i was wondering if there's tripods for getting a steady shot of the ground/ceiling with a level camera?

i'm using the camera a lot for collecting textures for game projects but in order to get photos of horizontal surfaces like the floor i basically just hold the camera out from my body and hope i get a good shot. it'd be nice if there was a tripod that kept the camera level, staring at the ground/ceiling.

added a disqus comment feature to my 365 tumblr, now it feels less like a secluded picture dumping ground and more like an art site style gallery, yay

    now if only I had viewers to comment, maybe I'll just go to flickr and spam links in award groups so I get a dozen trophies on everything ;~;

been shooting a bunch of film, so I haven't had the opportunity to develop/upload new stuff in a little while.

    Yeah I feel pretty lucky.

It's only 4-5 hours by train or 3 hours driving from here. I ski in the summer too, one Britain's biggest dry slope, which the city buses still go to .

How do you find dry slopes, you do mean the kind of cross hatch turf material right? Because its really not the same for me. I could never go back to dry slopes.

It's similar enough, people who say they can't go between them are either lying, bad or never tried a dry slope.

They are distinctly different though, but they both rely on the same skiing techniques so they're easy to switch between. If you learned on snow, you'll do fine on a dry slope, and vice versa.

I've been skiing my whole life, I feel totally natural doing it, so it might just be a natural ability of mine to slide on slippy surfaces .

Depends on the terrain, snow conditions and other factors. If it's just on-piste skiing, it should be a pretty easy transition. I wouldn't go straight to non-groomed stuff though.
Maybe next time come to B.C you can come and do some real mountain skiing with me.

I was skiing on ungroomed snow today (which was ridiculously rocky and icy), and I might be going back to BC next winter.

I'm going to Lake Tahoe in March too.

P.S. I'll pm you what films I want soon, I've been putting off the decision since I've been travelling so much and I have no idea about film .

Stretch all the pages and annoy EVERYBODY

I remember a guy who had this animated gif, it was just all of the colors cycling downwards. it was 50px tall, but only one wide, which was fine as far as FP avatars were concerned

but the issue was when he posted on someone's visitor page

it would rescale it so that the widest edge fit the width of the avatar field, but because of that it amplified the avatar fifty times and stretched the page forever
