Fucking love that idea, but that domain costs like £200/year for some reason.

I don't know much about photography, but why are tripods so expensive? It seems like a lot for a few metal legs.
    20$? that's not expensive.

    Holy crap.
I just found a Pentax K-x (White one-Personally, I love the white one. It's like a storm trooper.) for $250, with a lens, on Craigslist. This person says it needs to go, ASAP. No other details are left.
Except my dad promised me that he'd get me a better DSLR when we go down to the states (1-2 months from now.) I can't decide whether or not to wait and get a better camera, or get this cheap one. I've never gotten anything of Craigslist so I'm somewhat paranoid of scammers and such.
Also, I don't even know I'm ready for DSLR yet. I'm scared that I might not be able to make good use out of it.
    What do I do.

Take your dad up on his offer, IMO. You have no idea what the used camera has been through, particularly the mileage on the shutter.

    Yep, it does.
And it's somewhat (not really) close. It might take an hour to get there though public transportation. Except I'm really busy with school recently, so I probably can't make it. Maybe on the weekend. Also, the post was made on last Saturday, and says "Needs to go this weekend!" but the weekend just ended. Either the guy is still selling it, or he's lazy and won't take down the post.

If you get a chance to hold it, you can probably check the shutter count and the dirt on the sensor.

Are you kidding me? Good tripods cost at a bare minimum of 100, and those are the really cheap ones.

Yeah that concerns me, so I'll probably wait.

I know, except I'm not the most experienced person with cameras, so there may be flaws that I am unaware of. Who knows if this person is giving the camera away due to some problem that may take some time to discover. I have no idea

i'd say a less collection of self portraits overall. you have a lot of good ones in there, but just tone down the amount overall

also put in that panorama you did of the glider, that photo is brilliant

i hate street photography normally, but i love all of your shots pick. they are so fresh compared to what i see all the time. in my photojournalism class my teacher shows us people all the time, and they are leagues behind what you are currently doing.

    So, entering some random small school competition for "Utopia" and I can't think of any photo to pick, however I was thinking one of these;

Sleepy by Red Pan, on Flickr

Rows of Trees by Red Pan, on Flickr

Sunset over Canada by Red Pan, on Flickr
But I think I'm leaning towards the first one, I think its one of my personal favorites, any suggestions?

To me Utopia would be somewhere with bright, vibrant colours and LOTS of them!

These sorts of colours makes me think:

My friends have organised an Anthropology conference this weekend:

    http://www.breakingbubbles.com/

They asked me to photograph the event in exchange for the ticket. Seemed like a fair deal since I was going to both buy a ticket and photograph the event anyway :P

Plus, there's a possibility of Chris Knight staying at my house during the course of the weekend.

Yeah I agree, but I don't have time to get another roll of film done with themed photos, the competition ends on the 6th for me, because on the 7th I'm leaving for Europe. Plus its a tiny competition and they basically asked me to enter to motivate others Thanks guys
