I'm sure CCP would most likely disable all combat in the New Eden system if they held such an event.
Straight up disabling combat for no reason would be a kind of sad end for EVE, considering one of the things that sets it apart from other MMORPGs is the lack of any truly safe zone.
That would make a good finale, as the ultimate distillation of the EVE Experience.
I know it might be naive but I'd like to think that in the last moments of EVE the people would be capable of NOT killing each other long enough to see its end.
Who's to say the terrans didn't go back to war with each other and died off? Its what they were doing before the gate.
Eve gate opens
Terrans roll through
Burn New Eden to the ground
Incursions on steroids.
And then we have to skill up to get the biggest rocks possible. Too bad boulders have ass tracking.
hey scout you know you don't have to be an asshole 24/7 right
So I'm trying to train for a logi Exequror. I'm currently L2ing in a Vexor and I do PVP with E-UNI with a corp-provided hangar. So what should I do? Should I fit out a logi Exequror or get my Myrm and do L3 first?
44 days to train to core competency standard.
t1 logis suck.
Certificates are just guidelines. They don't need to be taken literally.
Can't go anywhere without getting gatecamped.
I just thought of a way the Gallente could totally fuck over the Caldari. The Gallente would just need to design a little melon-sized drone with a tiny pincer on the end. The drone would then be launched towards a Caldari ship, too small to be picked up by even their powerful sensors, and it would sneak on board via a external airlock. The drone would then find the control room and proceed to flick the Shield Control switch to off, turning the vessel from a cutting-edge technological fortress to a flimsy mess with the appearance and resilience of failed origami! If the crew shoot the drone, dispatch the drones in squads!
I don't know why I haven't been hired by CCP as a writer of EVE lore yet.
The caldari would retaliate by making a huge screen which shows slaves being whipped. The gallente pilots would just commit suicide.
Oh god, what goonswarm did to FW was genious.
No wonder Goons fielded a Tengu fleet.
Actually nvm I have an answer to that question which is sort of tinfoil hatty but plausible. I think Goons and some players at large (Mittani) like intimidating the devs. I think Burn Jita was in part just such an exercise. I'm not saying it has any conspiratorial purpose, but I do think it's in keeping with Goon philosophy. That's why they invariably bitch about every expansion like it's a failure.
The only other people I know who bitch that hard are people who frequent the forums.
That is until you look at certs for operating certain offensive modules like projectile turrets or missile launchers, or any core competency certificate.
Or defensive modules like shield boosters/shield hardeners or armor reppers/hardeners
Steam Summer Sale soon.
If EVE pops up I'll probably grab it, play for a month at least. Try and leave my carebear past behind me and start rolling with a proper corp.
oh my god i love goonswarm.
i miss being a logi pilot with them. :(
I doubt they'll ever step too far inside the game. The Devs themselves have stated that if you can do it, it's fair game. If they ever DID step too far and CCP intervened, the shitstorm would be intolerable.
and hilarious, because most of the internet hates the goons.
once i move into my own apartment I'll probably play again. This is the kind of game you play alone in the dark with alcohol.
according to my experience, at least
A recent incident in which my corp lost about 15 Million worth of ship shows you should never bind 'Push to talk' to the same button as 'Warp fleet to location'
you deserved it
