I don't think so, since we had our own Escort, which was a completely different car. I still have no idea why Ford had two different cars for different markets under the same branding.
Just styling and handling preferences between continents.
The EU prefer sharper handling and sharper styling (Though not by much on our Escorts).
The US prefer a more relaxed, comfortable handling with more conservative styling (boxy), not forgetting those US federal bumpers!
Though I prefer the American Escorts by far (Grass is greener no doubt).
Was the Cosworth version above sold in the US?
