a) I asked the developer, he told me it has to do with the containment breach.

"Unexplained shout" near or in al capones room, or what sounded pretty similar to a dog barking...
That makes sense if it's an SCP with EMP qualities, but 173 isn't really capable of knocking out the lights, so I'd have to assume Bright was fucking about with regulations in case an SCP escapes.
I did like how 173 was trying to shut him in there. If the AI is that clever, that game would be incredibly fun.
I think it's a base wide containment breach. I imagine one of the other SCP's somehow knocked out the generators.
I think it was trying to turn off the light so it could walk around freely.
I thought the light was already off and the button was the one to open the door, hence why he pressed it before entering.
Are there any more things like this, rather than just stairs?
A game based on SCP-093 would be brilliant, imagine exploring an alternate reality in which a quasi-religious apocalypse took place. Cold, dirty, desolate city streets. Barren, brown fields with giant, lumbering black masses dragging themselves across. The feeling of sheer hopelessness and loneliness combined with the ever-present idea that something or some things are watching you...
Making that SCP-450 in hammer.
And i noticed that making the map ABSOLUTELY dark, with the player only having a flashlight, makes that 166.5m hallway pretty fucking creepy.
Presumably you'd be forced to blink eventually, and the strain could be represented by a little bar or something. You could make it so that you hold the mouse buttons to keep your eyes open, M1 for the left eye and M2 for right, and so on. It has potential for a miniature game, I tells ya.
Will there be ghosts that kill the player if they move too fast, rotting dead bodies lying around, and random, unearthly noises?
Doesnt come close to this yet.
I have to make the walls closer to eachother, add that piping and doors to make it look gritty, new floor textures, lamps, decals, etc.

My automerge is getting broken all the time
Probably not. I have no idea how to make such stuff yet, im sort of doing this to learn hammer.
But if and when i have the skill to do it, there would be doors opening next to you, banging on the cell doors, and all kinds of fancy stuff that would make you want to run for your life but you cant.
Once again, SCP-666-J http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-666-j would be hilarious if it was made.
play MW2 and you'll get an accurate representation
Worst part is, I don't even know what the SCP is.
I need to make it wider, It looks to small.
Im actually proud of how fast im learning hammer. Pics tomorrow. im sleeping.

Is it normalbto be so fucking arfraid of your own map? im making and testing out the map, and its past midnight and im fucking scared that something i didnt make would be there. like, seeing an npc standing in the darkness.
Anyway, progress. Got a better floor, remade the walls, added pipes, added doors.
Next up, lights.
that would be scary as shit
good read by the way
SCP-093 was always my favorite one just because of the event logs and the idea of alternate realities accessed through the SCP. A game made about that SCP alone would be amazing.
I feel like this thread is turning more and more into a SCP megathread. Maybe we should make one for all the planned SCP games?
"SCP games V1: Off to be a rouge-like"![]()
"SCP Games V1: All our Protagonists are Convicted Rapists"
Or how about Dr. Bright(s)? He seems to be fairly disposable, and insane.
Well yeah, but that assumes the player is equally crazy and likes being railroaded into psychopathic desicions.
I mean with a game like Blood, the player is playing the game specifically because they get to be crazy. SCP fans don't fall entirely under the same demographic.

Aand after
I gotta change the pipes and the ceiling grill there.
How do i do lights in hammer?
And can someone tell me why there are bright lines in the distance?
Looking good man. You should get some dirtier and more muddy textures for the ground, though.
I could always add mud with decals.
e: or not.
Why can I see a white outline at the end of the tunnel in the new pics :( scared face.
Im trying to figure out why it keeps happening.

Ah, appareantly its a glitch with source's antialiasing. Always has been there but is the most noticiable in dark.
UDK FTW!
Or Unity...Actually I think I decided Unity a while ago.
Edited:
Then you can play it on your Android/IOS Phone/tablet in bed!
Wait unity, is that easy to use or do you have to code and stuff aswell?
You has to code, I choose Java.

SCP Games - Throw D-Class at it until it dies
"Here's our plan, men. We'll send wave after wave of D-Class into the interdimensional hell ghost portal, clogging it with corpses!"
"Good plan, sir!"
Also I am going on record as someone who's too much of a pussy to play any of these games. Although an SCP roguelike might be interesting.
Sorry if im clogging the thread up with my crap, but
Today i learned how to make lights and physics props, made the pipes a bit better.
Still for some reason, the light does not illuminate the pipes.
edit: Solved the issue

You're awesome.
I love you MisterSjeiks

Now, what should add tomorrow? Lamps, etc. to the hallway OR the execution chamber OR entrance to the death row?
You're learning hammer quicker than I did. Just make sure you get everything including optimization, AI nodes (if you plan to add NPCs) and checking for leaks. I just tried to learn how to map as quick as possible and ended up having to learn even more
Still, I've taken a break from that because I am trying to learn how to use the Skyrim creation kit, which in my opinion has a bit easier tutorials for my first map. Anyway, your map is beginning to look quite good.
Made a video because i felt the need to demonstrate how long 166.5 meters actually is.
Edited:
The camera does not slow down in the video. And its going relatively fast.
