I didn't play clannad but in the anime he was really annoying. Just crying all the time and never making up his mind.

It is on the image under "baby's first eroge/VN". Which come to think of it was my first not-just-tits-for-tit's-sake VN. When I play it now I skip the porn for the plot.

Hmm, Not so sure about this. I don't know how much work goes into a VN but this seems pretty pricey.

Also, there's probably some of you who download your VN's illegally, but you should seriously consider buying them. The Visual Novel genre is taking a massive blow from the piracy, and KEY who wrote both Kanon and Clannad, put out a new game this year that got 1/4 of their usual sales.

well most of them are basically just porn with a story, but KEY's shit is usually golden.
I haven't seen Rewrite yet, but I love everything else they've put out.

it's not that it's only anime or that anime is a necessary part of it, it's just most popular in Japan where that art style is pretty much the norm

animes are animated movies/shows, visual novels are games that are based around story and choices.
one can't be another, but if you meant style-wise, then yes.

The rest of the VN is great but it's hard to call something good when you utterly hate the main char throughout the entire thing.
