Actually, Fortress Defence sounds cool.
I think someone should start checking grocket material on a weekly basis.
some f2per in a server was asking how to unlock a new sapper (or zapper as he called it).
So I guess more people than us OCD people noticed. It's a good sign, because it means they probably knew this would happen, and a new sapper, I'm almost certain, is right around the corner.
Not sure on the build tool. There's none of those in the workshop yet (while there's 2 sappers I found that could work), so I guess they'll make their own model for it?
One thing I DO NOT want to see is a sapper reskin. I feel this is in the same vein as a medigun reskin, it's just too important of a weapon to mess around with reskins.
Well no one's bothered much with new sentries and stuff cause before now it was more or less pointless. With the PDA slot now we'll probably see something.
I want these robots so fucking much.
And they should be coming in, say, early April, in order to leave a proper gap between them and the Saxxies.
TF2 Dota would be amazing. Though waves make it sound more like some kind of wave-based survival thing.

And I really hope that this new game mode is done in the traditional TF2 style, not some top-down DOTA-type thing...

It doesn't look like TF2 at all.
I like the model and animations for it, but I have to agree, someone else needs to texture it.
If there was to be a brainstorming session, I'm sure some good sentry designs could come of it.
It seems more and more likely that a new type of sentry, or at least a new buildable, will go hand in hand with this new game mode. I'd be willing to bet on it being exclusive to that mode only, too.
While I'd be interested to see a new sentry introduced, I have yet to see a model that looks like it belongs in TF2. There are some that are well-made, like that Floral Defense pack, but look horribly out of place in the game, and then there are the rest, which aren't that great looking to begin with.

it's like if DaVinci painted a picture of a used tissue: it's a very nice painting, a ton of work went into it, the creator has a TON of talent, but I wouldn't put it on my wall...
I have some ideas for new Sentries...
you could have one that targets both enemy players, buildings, AND sticky bombs. downside is that it does much less damage.
another one could gain extra, smaller turrets as it levels up, each teurret with it's own line of sight. this way, the main turret could shoot one enemy, the second one could shoot another on the other side of the room, and the final one could shoot in yet another direction. downside is it has no rockets and cannot be wrangled.

I've been alpha testing the game Krater recently and asked in the forums if Fatshark plan on doing any sort of TF2-related promos with the upcoming release of their game on Steam. Their reply was promising.
As much as I turn my nose up at a lot of the preorder promos, I honestly think Krater's artstyle lends itself really well to the TF2 universe. If they do it right, there could be some potentially really great stuff coming from this. /rainbows

PDA replacements that work on medieval mode, giving Engies there a place.
They NEED to filter Pyro's voice with the Aspect (or maybe only when in a set with the Beacon?)
here's one I did, -15 pitch (applied same way as Engy's bug filter)
Better idea - Apply it to any class that is wearing the Monoculus or HHHHead hats.
I don't know if the engine supports any other filters
this just uses the fly-boy method and changes some values (making it easy for Valve)

In all honesty, if there are going to be any new sentries, I'd rather have VALVe make them.
Think deeper lines should go to the costume, the aspect just doesn't seem to fit with the deeper lines imo, needs something else.
