Neat!
I see machine parts moving in that video. To me, it looks like some kind of oil pump though, and it also makes sense for Pyro's theme with fire.

The bad news is, he is holding the flamethrower, which might eliminate the possibility for a mtp equivalent of the clinical trial pack.
Hopefully this doesn't mean the pyro patch will have no valve-made content.
that's not the stock flamethrower
The Pyro pack won't be community made, Valve is gonna do the same thing they did with Meet The Medic, their own brand new pack.
The possibility is still there, the thing shaking behind could be just the tank that Pyro carries on its back.
What if it is not a flamethrower at all?
What if....it's a puppy?
What the fuck am I saying?
I wonder if the new flamethrower will be his "pre-TF2" days flamethrower, like Medic's weapons were his pre-TF2 days weapons.
But you can't really much more rinkydink looking than Stock Flamethrower or the Degreaser. Both look like they're cobbled together from spare parts (like the Quick-Fix)
wait
i forgot the degraser
Edited:
not the degreaser either
What are you guys talking about?
All I can see is the tip of the flamethrower, gas tank at the bottom, Pyro's arm and back.
They could make their own version of the Griefblower.
I can't help but think that the pump is connected to something by a long hose which is winding past the pyros back left leg (The machinery that MrCasual mentioned?). I think he's using it like one would use a firehose, except in a much more literal sense.
I think this scene might be the birth of the flamethrower.
That's his arm.....
look at the shape at the front
the MtP one is cone shaped. It also has the gas tank that seems a bit wider and hangs down a bit more. The stock swings out more, this one is closer to the center.
No guys what are you talking about it's a dead body.
last time they previewed Meet the Medic like this, we had to wait months to get it :(
Its a sock....
Hey guys what's u-oh god
IT BEGINS
eh?

IT WON'T BE COMMUNITY MADE.
I don't see why we should rule that out.
Meet the Medic had community items in it
The Clinical Trial pack wasn't community made.
He means the Pyro set won't be community made.
Come on ned
you don't think the next step is to show off a community set in a Meet The... video?
TF2 has more community items than Valve items. By all accounts, the game is completely community driven, and it might be good advertisement for the workshop to feature a community item as the main weapon in Meet the Pyro.
we are literally looking at pixels here.
All we've got is five seconds of the pyro seemingly firing his primary in a pisspoor resolution.
We can't conclude much from that.
I still call a stock, but then again it could be any flamethrower.
Every item, hat, map or anything showed in every Meet The Team has always been Valve made, why would they change that for the last one, without any particular reason ?
Sure, the other sets will be community made (and by community I mean psyke), but the Pyro one will be Valve made, because they always did that, it's like a tradition.
Meet the Medic had community hats in it.
It might have also had the Black Box/Liberty Launcher, I can't quite remember.
Reckon there was no update last night because of this, it's not ready or holding out for replay update 2 now?
You keep dodging what he's saying. MtP will definatly have community stuff sure, but Pyros items, Pyros items from the video will be Valve made.
why do they have to be?
Meet The Medic had Svdl's Armored Authority. But sure, that propably doesn't count since Svdl is pretty much a professional and it's only shown for a mere second.
It feels right.
Tradition I guess ? I also doubt Valve would give away the finally meet the team to the community, it would ruin the surprise since we see it in the workshop. Instead of being totally blown away it'd be a "oh yeah, that one."
Why would you put something that a lot of people are waiting for into a hands of an unprofessionals?
Oh yeah, I forgot they made his hat an easter egg on the Soldier army.
The keyword here is easter egg, not actual major content. (the Pyro/Medic packs)
we wouldn't have to see it in the workshop, not if they personally asked Laro or someone to do it.
If you told me 2 years ago we'd have community contributed promo items, I would have thought the idea was ridiculous, that Valve has to make every promo because the community just makes supplemental items.
And here we are, 2 major community promo updates under our belts and a handful of one-off community made promos.
I disagree heavily with the term "unprofessional" when regarding community items. There's nothing unprofessional about community items, other than them being made by hobbyists. And some of those hobbyists actually model for a living.
He is seen pumping the whatever it is later on, and it has a big white tank.
Quick Fix was made to look like a predecessor of the stock medigun. So I imagine they will do the same here. And that psyke/ronin item looks nothing like it.
I don't see anything unusual there.
Just the pyro burning stuff around him/her/it/potato.
/quick-fix looks like medigun prototype because the video captures how first uber was deployed and it shorted, so medic made a modern version of it that we now know as medigun - but pyro doesn't really use modern flamethrower these days, and I think that video will be about pyro's true personality, not his flamethrower
Looks like the stock. Just my opinion.
I support ned that there is no reason why valve wont include community items in the video. The moment you submit your item in the workshop, you pretty much agree that valve can put it in any TF2 related media that they want.
However, i do think thats the pyro's stock weapon he is revving up. I think its the old cinematic technique of inanimate object perspective. The whole video will be from the perspective of the flamethrower. :D

If you're implying the aviator set i made, that's my solo endeavor.
