The only reason I have this attitude is fairly simple.
Long story short, I was supposed to graduate this year from college. For once, my body was ready for the final semester.
Guess what?
This shit happened and is still going on since February.
I did not expect it and it fucked me over. So when I say "anything can happen", it's a possibility.
I like to consider everything possible, no matter how ridiculous it might be.

That's sad you were ready for your final semester to graduate and then a shitstorm appers out of nowhere and you got fucked over by angry quebec's. This is what will happen if we don't get a major update.

I personally don't mind the way the pan is rigged now. It makes the classes look more fancier by holding it English style.

we've still got half a year.
in this half a year, we SHOULD be getting Meet the Pyro, Source Filmmaker, the Second Saxxy Awards, TOBOR Mode, the Meet the Pyro Update (I'm assuming we'll get atleast one set/weapon per class), another Summer Update, Manniversary 2, Halloween 2012, and Australian Christmas 2012.
so, assuming Meet the Pyro and Source Filmmaker are considered "big", then yes, 2012 will be a BIG year.
When we'll actually be GETTING any of these big things is a whole 'nother matter.

Erm, it has only been 5 months, not 6. January, February, March, April and May, five months. Only a month more than what we had from August to December (timespan without stat items).
Still, we need more content. Reserve the +x, -y weps for the weekly stuff, and leave game-changing stuff for large updates. The focus on cosmetics, and that not being a real focus anyway, isn't fun.

Are any of these updates really gonna be game changing though?
-The Halloween update will probably be only reskins, more Gibus & Skull forms, and probably 1 new Halloween hat.
-The Christmas update will probably be a few hats and weapons from the workshop.
-The summer update will just be another crate with new hats.
-2nd Saxxy will be new hats + more Saxxy distributions and maybe Source Filmaker
-MtP will probably introduce Tobor Mode, some new weapons and hats, and honestly it is the only update that I am looking forward to.

I've been saying forever.
Off-class reskins. Give Engineer a shotgun with the Family Business stats. Let Demoman have boots with Mantreads stats. Try a FAN on Pyro.

basically, yes. I think there's a few double barreled shotguns on the workshop made for Pyro.

tbh I'm not so sure I like lots of major updates when half of them were silly promo packs last year. At least we can look forward to an uber update like thing, which was the best update of last year

From the stuff that I mentioned (who knows if Valve has something else planned like the Shogun tie-in or Community Map Pack or something), we'd be getting:
a new game mode (TOBOR), a new Meet The short, Source Filmmaker, new class packs (MtP Update), various new weapons (MtP, Christmas, possibly more), and various new cosmetics (basically every update).
then there's the possiblity of new maps, comics, a new Halloween boss/map, achievements, and minor add-ons (kill icons, fixed bugs, new styles, etc.)

kind of funny. It's like nobody has visited valve at all this year.
Last year we had lots of interesting stories of people seeing Meet the Medic, or playing on Barnblitz or whatever. This year... nothing.

When I met up with him in Chicago, he did mention that he wanted to make another visit to the Valve office when he visits his uncle in Washington. Whether or not that's still in play is a whole other monster, but he did mention that he'd want to plan to go again.

He has a small metal ball on a chain attached to a metal pole, he brings it back and when the weapon is brought down to hit something, the ball comes down with a trail of wind on it like when you are hit by a disciplinary action
taunt kill is him spinning, similar to olympic hammer throwers, and if you are hit by the ball, it kills you

Depends on what you consider "major".
I assume that we'll be getting the Saxxies before the end of May, with Meet the Pyro coming around the same time as Meet the Medic, give or take a few days/weeks.

If Meet The Pyro doesn't come with the Raid Mode or the other way out, I think the next thing you should look out for will be a major shitstorm.

I think something will happen Thursday. But if its a simple Saxxies announcement, no meet the Pyro, and doesn't add a new game mode, I will be dissapointed.
My fingers are crossed for Meet the Pyro, Saxxies being mentioned but not the focus of the update, Pyros vanilla flamethrower getting buffed by 10% like they're testing in the beta, and new weapons. And the new game mode. My fingers are crossed so hard they could break.
