So it appears that links sent through the Messaging app go through Windows Live's SmartScreen thing.
Not sure how I feel about this. I mean yeah keeping regular people safe but, it's not like you can disguise a link as another link in MSN.
Also, I've noticed that in many windows 8 previews they've featured the 2nd windows logo (the one from XP era), it gives me a hint that the official windows logo will be the flags and windows8 will carry the metro style one seeing as 3 versions of windows don't utilize metro.
I could be wrong though
What happened to Windows Classic mode for themes?
And even if you used it for other purposes, there's no point in it anymore
I know I'm probably way early, but are there any upcoming laptops that will be utilizing windows 8? I would love to have one of those things on the previous page that can act like a laptop and a tablet.
I doubt there'll even be a "Desktop" mode in Windows 9. I think they're gonna phase it out.
To me, Windows 8 seems like they've just stuck a tablet GUI on top of a desktop OS like early versions of Windows on top of MS-DOS. The simplicity of some metro apps goes a little too far in my opinion, as it's hard to navigate through them at times, like the messenger app is slightly confusing at times.
Is there really one one size that the metro snaps at? Like if it were 10% more I'd actually be able to read this.. Anyone tried working out how to make it wider?
The one-size Metro snapping is really, really weird I think. It would be kind of cool if there was like a splitter bar there or something so you could size it to your liking.
That's the only size.
On a random note, I've noticed that Windows Explorer still doesn't respect the "Show translucent selection rectangle" option (Computer properties -> Advanced System Settings -> Advanced tab -> first Settings button).
So what ever happened to being able to play Xbox games on our PCs? Did that fall through?
As for Metro, I might feel better about it once it gets more apps I'll actually use on it.
EDIT: Panda, what's Woah!1! that doesn't work with AD?
IS the customer review stable enough to keep as main os?
So, I'm getting pissed off. I've tried two different USB drives and neither of them will take the OS so I can install it on another partition.
My computer won't even format one of the drives, and it almost broke the other one.
Anyone else had this problem?
I hate windows, apple, valve etc... They are all a bunch of dreamers who turned into to sell out assholes and have built houses of shit on what was a sturdy foundation, My friend home made operating system, the one I am using currently, is better then windows seven or the new macs, n anybody who knows how to program knows that these products are less than satifactory and take all of three seconds to make the 'tweaks' that they have been doing for the past ten years, then they put a $500 price tag on something that can reach my 8gb of ram capacity, It is sickening and I hope at least some of you are smart enough to agree.

Ok, so it suddenly started working... Should I be worried that I won't be able to put the OS in the partition?
So I just installed W8.
I figured out how to move icons and pin icons and unpin, but how do I change colors of the icon?
Both my steam and firefox icons are this really lame grey...
