Does OGSE add sneaking AI or something? I keep hearing footsteps behind me, I turn around and I get shot in the face by a crouching bandit/merc.

They do seem good at sneaking in OGSE. There's been a few times where I thought an area was clear and one would hit me in the face with their rifle. It does a surprising amount of damage and disarms you. :(

Is there a way to make ShOC's human enemies not be bullet sponges? My friend has trouble playing it because of this. I read something on TV Tropes that apparently there is some sort of glancing hit modifier, is there a way to turn that off?

Tell him to play on a harder difficulty. It ups damage both ways and doesn't up their health.

Thanks, I figured that is what it is. I always play on veteran myself and I never encountered such a problem.

No problem, otherwise just make sure he knows head shots are pretty much instant kills, and that there are variations of ammo types, so he can swap to armor piercing when something has armor.

I never knew that, so if you play on Master you deal more damage? Might be worth the tradeoff then, I thought it just buffed enemies. I worry about bullet sponge mutants though.

Yep the damage scales both ways and their health stays the same I believe.

hit_probability_gd_novice = 0.20
hit_probability_gd_stalker = 0.30
hit_probability_gd_veteran = 0.40
hit_probability_gd_master = 0.50

Would this be it, or does that just affect the player?
