I just had the first moment where I thoroughly enjoyed DF personally(not just laughing reading the wiki and whatnot) Anyway here's my story:

Me being the smart Fortress leader that I am, decided to dig into a underground cavern for the precious precious gold that was literary everywhere down there. Of course there wasn't going to be anything bad down there, right? I was wrong. After letting the miner go about their business down there I went to continue designing the grand scale gladiator arena I had been planning for a while when suddenly I get: "Aludsibrek cancels Make gold Crafts: Interrupted by Troll". Suddenly all hell breaks loose as a troll is now running wild in my fortress, killing all my dogs. As I hadn't had time to build a militia yet I put one together out of a planter, a fisherman and a couple filthy migrants. Obviously they didn't have any weapons so they start pounding the troll with their fists. And after knocking out several teeth and spraying vicious cyan blood and vomit throughout the fortress they finally manage to incapacitate him all while continuing to hit it. Turns out they just can kill it with their fist so they keep on hitting it until the troll, now missing just about all it's teeth walks into a cage trap while phasing in and out of consciousness. Guess I just got the first combatant for my arena.

Question: when you became a husk, did your stats change? I've heard that husks get triple strength but every time my adventurer got husk'd nothing seemed different stats/strengthwise.

My stats changed when I obtained vapirism but when I was husked I think the only difference stats-wise was my loss in speed

Boo. I was told husks>vamps in terms of stats bonus. Oh well, now the only thing left to try is vampirism.

Fuck, giant wrens are more dangerous than goblins, they just destroyed my militia, killing a nice number of them and crippling most of the rest.

Yeah migrants coming on only seem to have labors enabled if their skill is master or more

in adventurer I found a cave full of unarmed kobolds. I briefly considered sparing them because kobolds have it kinda rough, but then I realized I'd get a few levels in axe man.

But my question is whether or not this is a known feature, or a random generation thing. Is it what a kobold city looks like? cause they all had professions.

I also seem to have a broken hunger indicator. It never goes away no matter how much I eat.

Is there some way I can be sure that my dwarves will butcher a corpse? I want them to make leather and soap out of my slain enemies, but they usually don't butcher anything unless it's brought back by a hunter.

Also, my dwarves are ignoring the fact that I've restricted adamantine strands from being stored with the rest of the thread. Why? Adamantine strands have their own separate stockpile with nothing else enabled, but the strands only end up there about 50% of the time

I'm using orkels balance fix and he stabbed me in the head with a knife tearing the inner and outer brain killing me,
I decided to try again a second time and this time he sliced my head off.

not unless you let them out by pitting them or sending the cage to the trade dpot

I can't decide if I should feel bad for using danger room training. For marksdwarves I have no guilt since they won't train on targets this version, but for everyone else...I can't decide if the current training sucks enough to justify it.

Also, I keep crashing whenever I attempt a "prepare for the journey carefully.." embark. Play now! works just fine, but for some reason even just creating a completely empty custom embark makes the game crash when embarking. Is this a known bug?

Check his kills. He might just be a powerful warrior.

Check if he is part of loads of old civs, from the personality screen.

It took me more than two hours to take down a demon (they call themselves deity) they rules humans city.



He was still able to dodge and most of my attacks were just bruising or shattering the bones. I stabbed him like 15 times in the head and it didn't killed him.

In the end I just managed to sever several part of his feet and cut off his left hand. He bled to death after that.



Also, does anyone know if an ear infection is really a big deal ? I've spotted some human pus on the infection and I fear to die because of it. (I'm necromancer but I've not chosen my second specialisation yet). If I'll die from it I probably should become a werewolf since it heal everything once in a month.

He was part of like 3 different ones but most of his kills were on animals, would it show if he killed a bunch of people too? Or would that be part of his hidden vampireness?
