why isnt there a simple way to tell your dwarves to cut valuable gems? i have like 30 different kinds of uncut gems and its impossible to set them all to be cut.

I think one of my favorite things about the new DF is watching the world generation slowly grind to a halt when doing histories. 1-40 is like a flash, and 60-90 starts to slow, 120+ is like a snail.

Find gems you believe would look good studded or embedded and cut those. Ruby, sapphire, diamond and emerald are generally a sure thing, but then there are others that are lesser known, but equally as beautiful:


Such as Tanzanite



Or even Tsavorite (and this is when it's rough!)

I genned a world and this HUGE dwarven civ is at war with the elves. Fuck yes.

Settling on a mountain/volcano with a stream nearby AND at war with elves, goblins, and neutral with "tower". I don't think this world can get any better.

Oh no! Toady is fixing the bugs which with we can spot vampires easily!

A vampire disguised as an immigrant drained one of my dwarves of all their blood whilst in a crowded room, with many witnesses. Checking the justice screen, 10 witnesses came forward. 9 of those accused the same dwarf (let's call him Urist). Urist himself was the 10th "witness" and tried to accuse another member of the fortress of the crime. All very cool.

But Urist, for some reason, chose to accuse a farm animal - in this case a goose - of the crime.

This funny bug was also fixed for next release.
