I was trying to install ACRE for Arma 2 and half the stuff it wanted me to do was in the folder. It said to use the ACRE installer, that wasn't in the folder. Then for the manual instal it said to put a file called dsound.dll in your Arma directory, but I didn't see that file either. I can already tell this is going to be a broken piece of shit.

Nevermind the thread on the BIS forums says you don't need dsound.dll anymore

Now Teamspeak isn't detecting the ACRE plugin. Shit mod do not download.

Holy shit give it a chance, there's a lot of things that need to be done exactly as it says to work. Make sure it's in the right folder and is the right bit for your windows/teamspeak version.

Got ACRE updated and a new update for ACE came out on sunday I believe. Got my joystick installed and ready for some crimson spoon.

Yeah I thought I had to put in the 64 bit file because my Windows is 64 bit but it turns out I have the 32 bit version of Teamspeak for whatever reason. Should be fine now.

So now I load up Arma 2 and it says I need dsound.dll for ACRE. Maybe you should include a necessary file in the download dumbasses.

No it literally keeps giving me this error message in Arma about dsound.dll not being found but that file wasn't included with the package I downloaded. I followed everything correctly.

Actually they're right for now, I had been using the downloaded version of Jayarma2lib that came with dsound.dll. Without it it'll give you the dsound error.
I don't remember where I found that but we may need to ghetto rig shit together with that like we did last time (IIRC).

even a Japanese wiki I visit thinks adding such a weak side is silly (although understandable because WG should have french, brit, us, commie, and nazi trees by the time they add the jap trees)

Yup. Use this link and drop the contents of the folder inside into your Arma 2 OA. Includes Dsound and updated Jayarma2lib. If you already installed the Jayarma2lib from ACRE, delete it and drop this in. Fixed Dsound.dll error appearing at top right.

I think one of the other problems is that Steam doesn't allow @JayArmA2Lib to run (FOR WHATEVER REASON), because I just tried that shit via manual shortcut to ArmA2OA.exe and it worked.

Well that'd be weird because we found that people running retail Arma 2 OA couldn't get it working far more often than people with steam.

Yeah, we don't need to get into why it's not working as long as we get a build that is working. The ACRE portion of the original ACRE download works in conjunction with external Jayarma2lib.
