Yeah, girls get interested by airsoft more often than not, it sounds manly when they don't know that the majority of the hobby doesn't happen on the field and in action.
I've gotten the girl I like to go airsofting twice now, and I'm planning more stuff in the future. While its not a date by any means, we're hanging out and since I'm really good, it puts me in a very positive light.

You don't have to be the sole contributor of a conversation. Ask the girl what she's interested in, like here hobbies and such. Who knows, it might be something you might find interesting as well. Even if you don't think so, and it gets beyond casual conversation, just try it.
More importantly, don't think of women as superior beings that will melt you if they notice you. Think of them as people.

I can assure you it does, and then as they ask questions, the conversations shifts to you and things you know about. All of a sudden you appear knowledgeable, brave/tough, and pretty neat.
The goal is still to have the girl talk a bit more than you though in most situations, as it shows you can listen properly, which is basically the biggest of all things.

Unfortunately I have to plan for any interaction with a girl I like and in planning for it take into account all the ways it can go bad and see that the amount of ways it can go bad far outnumber the ways it can go good and just say fuck it and repeat the same process several months later with a different girl. It's been this every year I've been in high school.

My advice, get out more. Take up a sport (like fencing, lodse girls in fencing), join a club, whatever. If you can't get girls in school, you need to look elsewhere.

That's me on the right.
I wore tripp pants every single day of high school(minus 3 where I had to wear a suit). Plenty of people hated and feared me for no reason, and I didn't give a shit. I made lots of friends and talked to plenty of ladies, and my school didn't have any goth girls in it either.
