Go to the tab with the camera, scroll down to the bottom, there should be a section called "Bake". Open it up, set it to "Ambient Occlusion", and bake it to the texture. Then just set it to Multiple (iirc) over your normal texture.

I agreed with CardBoardBox and Pelf that they could use my docking ring on the space station parts. I sent it to CardBoard so he could easily make a docking module around it, agreeing that once it was textured by Kyle, I'd make a thread for it.

Ignoring everything we discussed, he promptly incorporated it into UUi while I was asleep and uploaded the file for anyone to download. When I saw this, I asked him why he disregarded everything I said, so he accused me of getting angry for no reason and then he removed the thread completely and went offline.

I want to collaborate with you CardBoardBox, but it's very frustrating when you make drastic moves while I'm asleep without consulting me at all. I now have no idea what you're doing because you won't COMMUNICATE.

That's possible, yes, and also much easier than what we are doing here, but the big problem is that saving a position vector is inaccurate at long ranges. That is, everything around the current focused ship would be fine, but things orbiting other planets for instance, would be saved with inaccurate data, which means every time you load the game, things will be somewhere else.

Also, saving orbital parameters allows us to fast-forward time without actually having to simulate the solar system (excepting hyperbolic orbits, that is), and this way we retain all the accuracy we can, because orbital parameters are all relative to the planet/moon being orbited, no matter where it is.

BTW, I've just fixed the hyperbolic orbits here. Things seem to be working just the way they should now.

If anyone here has experience in Blender, could you tell me how to fix the error I'm getting when I try to bake AO? It says "No objects or images found to bake to". I'm in Edit mode, I gave the model a material, I made a new image; I'm doing everything that I did before with the expansion cap which worked but these won't.
