Although those batteries are solid I have like 6 of them. As long as you take care of them.

Pft, probably sell my ARES Tavor anyway. I'm looking at the break down for the Tavor and I can't see a way to easily switch out the barrels. I can sit on the money and get the new ARES Tavor when it comes out or get the S&T after I read some more reviews.

And the rumors I'm hearing are:

S&T uses a version 3 gear box. So it's possible to upgrade the internals and if a poly gearbox is a turn off you can probably get a metal one. ARES uses a lot of poly shells.

S&T was started by former ARES employees.

Sounds to me like the previous owner put the barrel in sideways, or it was knocked out of position/set at an angle. Isn't it possible he could've disassembled it before selling it to you for some reason and put it back together wrong without testfiring it at 100+ feet? I certainly don't have that much room in my backyard. When my G&G M16 was sold to me, it had been completely broken down and reassembled, despite being pretty much stock, and it's entirely possible that the guy could've just shot it once or twice in his bedroom and said "it works kthxbai" and not known there was a serious issue. Same thing happened to me when I got my M4 teched, the guy put the barrel in upside down and I was nearly out a decent primary until my friend did an on-the-spot fix. I didn't realize there was an issue until literally ten minutes before game-on.

Oh also faggets. I'm getting quotes on patches. I'm just going to make the ENTIRE initial investment myself and you gays can repay me as I mail them out. I sent out like three or four quotes for 50-100 patches. Depending on which is cheapest I'll arrange for them to be made. Assuming it's less than $200 I can pretty much promise you patches.

It'll be 3 by 3 inches so it'll fit a velcro shoulder space nicely. Same size as my Gearwhores patch. Velcro backed.

I just had some Spanish guy call from from Los Angeles about the quote I made with Butlerpatches.

Once the logo is fixed I'll probably place the order. It'll be like $170 for 50 so everyone gets one, after everyone gets one maybe I can sell the extras. Also does anyone know what Embroidery % means?

Custompatches.net will make me 100 for $180 and offer samples. So far they're winning.

Different manufactures have different charging instructions. I have a pack of cells that can be charged at 6 amps for example.
Dont let the pack drop bellow 8.0 volts, Or leave a 10% charge.

Also if you charge it too slow it'll build a memory.

The memory problem is far more pronounced in NiCD. For the most part you dont have to worry about memory in NiMH, and you dont have to worry about anything for Lipo.

Improper charging and use can cause crystals to build up that reduce the capacity and drain rate.

There's ways to shock the pack out of a memory but that's pretty advanced stuff.

Another stupid question - Silencers in airsoft obviously aren't silencers , but are they there just to add to barrel length , and hopefully , velocity & accuracy?

No, just a cool factor really. Unless you extend the inner barrel. They can modify the sound some, depending on their shape and if they have foam.

Yeah, silencers are usually used to extend the outer barrel, in order to accomodate a longer inner barrel. Some do change the sound a bit, but other than that, they're purely aesthetic.
