This is an inline cloud strafer. They tend to suck, although they are clearly much easier to build than vortex strafers.

Well I got my boneyard gun in. I bought the CM035 but when I opened the box it's an RK02

I haven't tested it yet, I only peeked inside and I see the frightening pot metal gun, charger, cheap BBs, battery, sling, and magazine. Then comes the part I'm curious about, which is this black metal piece that was floating around next to the charger. It looks bent to me but I don't know what it is.

The RK02 boneyard is $75 and the CM035 is $80 (which is charged and listed on my order) but if that little metal piece isn't very important on the gun then I won't try to get an RMA on this thing because I won't know the condition of the CM035, it could end up being worse. Until I test this thing, I believe I just got an $80 RK02 in new condition besides a little bent piece of metal.

The battery had a bit of charge left so I test fired it and it worked on both semi and full auto, so I filled up the hi-cap and fired it until the battery started slowing down and it works perfectly fine. The only problems I'll need to fix are the grip because the plastic piece that guides the screw in at the bottom is chipped off (I can probably super glue it actually), and the front side is tilted a little to the right so I'll need to figure out how I'll fix that. There's also a mystery piece of plastic that was in the box, I'll take some pictures of them later. Other than that the only downside is that it's pot metal and I spotted a little circle of rust under one of the screws, but for $80 it's a working gun that shoots nicely.

Either fix these things or attempt to get an RMA on it since they charged me for the boneyard CM035 but I received the RK02.

If you fix it you'll probably make a return null anyway or it'll be too much hassle. Just go ahead and repair it and be proud of your bargain.

Thanks, I've put that piece on.

I took some photos of all the flaws so far, they're not that bad, the grip is wobbly without the screw in place so I'll see if some super glue can help.

Front sight is off, any suggestions on how I should go about this one? I see two tight pins that keep it attached I think so pushing those out could be a possibility.

Mysterious piece of plastic inside the box, I don't see any marks on it that would show if it had snapped off of something.

This is the chipped piece in the grip I've been talking about.

Skeleton stock has a little bent spot but when I find some paracord I'll be wrapping it up. The gun isn't comfortable at all when I fire with it folded so if the cord prevents it from snapping in on the side I won't be too worried, I'll still be able to fold it to fit in smaller bags.

Lastly, the cheap sling. I'll just use the single point bungee sling I'm getting in from ASGI in a few days, but I thought I'd share with you what my boneyard gun turned out to be.

I might just email Evike just so they know what happened, the extra $5 I paid isn't too big of a deal because I fared pretty well for $80. The metal body feels rough and a tad cheap but it attracts magnets, parts like the bolt carrier and iron sights don't attract magnets.

Since there's too much black on this gun, I'll probably do what jomt did and paint the handguard.

for the front sight you can probably jsut take a rubber mallet and lightly tap the sight back into place. or anything similar to that.

that bit of plastic honestly doesnt look like it goes to anything.

the grip needs to be replaced, cant super glue that.

you always replace the sling anyways.

the texture on the metal is actually more realistic than a smooth finish, i think. and its steel, which is good. since it attracts magnets.

honestly, just as good or better than a cm035.

Also the box has the previous owner's address on it for the return address, I should send him a postcard.

That mystery bit of plastic is the hopup spacer. Goes between the hopup and the inside front of the receiver. Trust me, my only tech experience is on AKs and I'd recognize that thing anywhere.

    Edited:

It's that L shaped piece, fits between the rear sight and the hopup, has a cutout for the fuse.

So I should be fine with leaving it out for now?

    Edited:

Oh I see, thanks for the photo. It helps with adjusting the hop up a whole lot, when I first put the battery in I was wondering why the hop up adjustment was just a flimsy piece of plastic that slides.

So I'm thinking for my next gun, I might just pick up an old surplus rifle stock, cut it down, and drop in a v7 gb and a hopup+innerbarrel and make myself a little carbine type thing. Should cost me less than $100. y/n?

Quite honestly, I hate that spacer design. I got rid of mine and got a good sized spring at a local hardware store long and wide enough to fit on the barrell. Keeps the hop up nice and snug against the gearbox.
